Santiago è una delle destinazioni più popolari per i pellegrini cattolici in tutto il mondo. È la capitale della Galizia (Spagna), ed è la sede della Cattedrale di Santiago (1075 – 1128), dove si possono trovare le spoglie di Santiago l'Apostolico. I Cammini di Santiago sono patrimonio dell'umanità dell'UNESCO e sono percorsi ogni giorno da migliaia di persone in viaggio verso la capitale religiosa della penisola iberica. Nel nostro tour dedicheremo la mattinata alla visita della cattedrale, e dopo pranzo gironzoleremo per la città medievale di Santiago, scoprendo alcuni segreti nei suoi vicoli. Al ritorno è prevista anche una sosta a Valença do Minho, la città di confine portoghese in alto a nord. Qui concentreremo la nostra visita nella fortificazione con radici dal XII e ricostruzione visibile dal XVIII. Una vista unica per la città, il fiume Minho (confine naturale) e il lato spagnolo.

We had always wanted to visit Santiago de Compostela and were beyond lucky to find Ricardo Costa to take us there from Porto. We arrived at our apartment right on time and was a fun companion for the day and was very knowledgeable about Santiago. He told us about the history and significance of every aspect of the Cathedral. We also stopped at a charming walled city on the way called Valenca do Minho. It was an unexpected place and we really enjoyed it. Ricardo stopped at a typical cafe for a sweet treat on the way and another for lunch. We really enjoyed the day and it was exactly what we wanted. We will definitely call on Ricardo again the next time we are in Portugal.
