Great way to see the city. The path covers a good area with lots of opportunities for side quests as we completed the main quest.
If you love history, this tour is for you. If you’re hoping to find all the great places in Santa Barbara, this isn’t the tour for you.
Overall, this is a great idea. Unfortunately, the directions were unclear and my group ended up walking ~4 miles and only completed half. It was also infuriating that answers were not always available or it would not accept anything other than their answer, ie misspellings or longer answers (still right) were marked as incorrect. Overall, you'd be better off scheduling a tour, this was NOT worth the cost.
After paying the fee, with my name, email address, telephone number, and credit card info given, I was provided the starting address. No more information was given. Upon reaching the starting point, I had to contact the company as to what to do next as there was no clue at the sight or on my phone. It was required that I join something and provide all my info again, in order to download the scavenger hunt. I was never able to actually down load the scavenger hunt, an hour was wasted trying to get the actual product, which I never did. I gave up. I'm out the $, wasted time, disappointed my friends. Terrible!
We're sorry you missed instructions printed on your ticket, included in your TripAdvisor booking confirmation, and in the email we sent you when you booked the experience! When you called, we helped you with the ticket redemption process and that took about 2 minutes to complete. After that you seemed satisfied. Sorry you didn't have a wonderful experience!
Our bus left us off where the buses parked. We had to walk uphill to get to the first clue, which was a mile. By the time we got to the parking lot to start the game we were too tired. Our of 25 people only 4 finished. If we had known to have the bus drop us off at the parking lot and then park. Maybe, just Maybe it would have been okay. We would not recommend this tour.
Thanks, Anita! It sounds like your review is focused on your transportation to us, and not really on our activity! Others in your group reported they had a "wonderful time".
It was totally fine but you don’t need to buy one for every person . It’s easy to share . One person can read the clues unless you are competing against each other
We enjoyed this fun walk around Santa Barbara and learned something in the process. Nothing fancy, but good fun for first timers.
Great experience. Did the hunt with 2 12 year olds and they got to read all the cool history of each place In the middle we stopped and ate and they couldn't wait to get back to it. Both loved it and kept repeating cool facts they learned to anyone that will listen.
Really fun and different! A nice walk and we learned some interesting facts about Santa Barbara and its history.
I was in Santa Barbara myself and saw this scavenger hunt. I love stuff like this. It gives you a great history lesson, and makes you think about the clues. Plenty of walking exercise too. I unfortunately got a low score because I didn’t read a couple of questions right. Only two things I wish were different. 1. A different pay scale for solo people,(I don’t know how you could prove your solo though), 50.00 is pretty spendy when you’re solo. 2. The last question wasn’t my favorite. By the time you’re done, you’re tired and hungry and you have 60 seconds to remember something from 2 hours prior. (That is how my score was low) I recommend writing the answers down if you’re not great at remembering stuff. Other than that, I really enjoyed it and if I am in another part of the country where they offer this, I will definitely check it out.
