Easily my favorite day of our Key West trip. The crew was incredibly knowledgeable and fun—Trevor kept us laughing the whole time—while Captain Anna created memories that will last a lifetime.
This was absolutely the best experience! The snorkeling was amazing as I swam close to a giant sea turtle, colorful fish and tarpon. Then the two hours chilling at a sandbar surrounded by ocean with the ship crew continuously providing us beverage replenishment. Finished the day with a picturesque sunset. The crew was super positive, knowledgeable and friendly. Cannot say enough positives! Best thing we did in Key West!
My husband and I visited Key West to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. Since seeing all the reports of massive amounts of sargassum washing up on the beaches, I decided to book an excursion to get on a boat to get away from it all. We wanted to do some snorkeling and visit a sandbar to relax and swim, so this tour seemed to fit best. The sunset at the end of this tour was a great way to wrap things up! Our guides, Brian, Katie, and Dani were absolutely wonderful! They were very attentive and fun to sail with to our destinations! We saw lots of fish during our snorkeling (including some huge Tarpon, and severy sting rays). Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone that wants a good mix of everything.
This was a very fun afternoon on a sailing vessel out to reef where we snorkeled . The water was perfect. After snorkeling the crew brought out the kayaks and they kayaked over to the mangroves. Hubby and I didn’t go but the rest of the group really enjoyed their time over there were they got a chance to hold a starfish and other sea life. There was a very energetic young crew who were always making sure we were having a good time. Beer and wine and soft drinks and water were provided. I would definitely recommend this company.
Absolutely superb afternoon on the water. The size of the group was perfect and 3 very good crew who made a point of getting to know everyone. There was good instruction on snorkelling and we were in very calm water which gave me some confidence. Sandbar was next and very relaxing; wonderful to have drinks brought out there. The timing for sunset worked perfectly (unfortunately not the best sunset as there was quite a bit of cloud).
We signed up for a Sandbar, Snorkel, & Sunset Excursion. This has been a complete bait and switch. This should be advertised as a booze cruise, which is all it is. They took the boat to a sand bar and dropped anchor. No coral reefs. Just sand to look at and it became abundantly clear that this is the extent of the excursion. This is not at all what was advertised or what we signed up for. This is our 2nd time out with Dangerous Charters and will be our last. We choose this company because its supposed to be more of an eco tour and less party boat. Nothing about this has been about sea life, its a booze cruise and hours of sitting in one place. Disappointing doesn't even begin to explain this horrible experience.

We do want to clarify that the Sandbar, Snorkel & Sunset Excursion is designed first and foremost as a sandbar-focused trip. We do not advertise coral reef snorkeling, and the itinerary is centered around sailing into the backcountry, spending extended time at the sandbar, and enjoying a relaxed afternoon on the water with snorkeling included depending on the conditions. On the day of your trip, west winds created additional chop and reduced visibility in the backcountry, so snorkeling conditions were not ideal. That said, our crew did give an ecology talk about the surrounding environment and marine ecosystem, which is something we include on our trips as we love sharing the natural side of Key West with our guests. We understand this experience felt very different from your previous Premium Day Sail, which is a more snorkeling-focused excursion and took place in especially great conditions for reef snorkeling and marine life visibility. We’ve had a lot of great feedback from guests who enjoy the slower-paced sandbar experience, so we’re genuinely sorry to hear it wasn’t the right fit for what you were hoping for. We truly appreciate the feedback, as this is still a newer excursion for us, and we’re always looking for ways to better communicate the experience guests can expect. The whole trip was so much fun. The boat ride out was fun. Snorkeling was good and the crew was very helpful. The best part was the sandbar! So much fun. Micah, Lexi and Mo were an outstanding crew!
very enjoyable both snorkling and sandbar. Crew worked very hard ti make everything enjoyable. Captain Micah, Mo and other. Perfect sunset, lots of dolphins and starfish at sandbar.
The entire crew was amazing, they waited on us and were all very knowledgeable. Liked the refreshments. Little disappointed in the snorkeling in the snorkeling, we were hoping for a coral reef and barely saw anything we still enjoyed getting out in the water. Would do again
Anna & Carly took us snorkeling, to the sandbar & we viewed a beautiful sunset on the way back! It was the perfect day on the water & Anna & Carly were so accommodating throughout the entire five hour trip! Highly recommend!
