Il Teatro Nazionale di Danze Greche 'Dora Stratou' è un museo vivente dal 1953 e unico al mondo nel suo genere. Ammira tutti questi costumi autentici e le danze tradizionali e lascia che la musica ti mostri la tradizione della Grecia attraverso il tempo. Lo spettacolo presenta molte regioni della Grecia, ogni villaggio o isola attraverso le sue danze autentiche, costumi, strumenti musicali e canzoni. La riproduzione è il più fedele possibile all'originale storico.

Itinerario
Goditi un'esperienza unica e vedi danze tradizionali provenienti da tutta la Grecia. Il programma cambia ogni secondo mercoledì e dura circa 90 minuti senza intervallo. Una compagnia di 75 ballerini, musicisti e cantanti si esibisce in danze di molte regioni della Grecia, villaggi e isole. Ammira le danze tipiche, i costumi, gli strumenti musicali e le canzoni. Danze, canti e musica sono presentati nelle loro forme originali, che sono state o sono ancora eseguite nei rispettivi villaggi o isole. I costumi sono autentici pezzi da museo, fatti a mano nei villaggi un secolo fa: 2000 costumi da tutta la Grecia, con tanto di gioielli e accessori. Non dimenticare la macchina fotografica per catturare tutti questi momenti unici e questo straordinario spettacolo.

A beautiful dive into Greek culture through dance. I had come more than 50 years ago and found the same pleasure with family. Good job.
The energy of the male dancers was wonderful! Didn't enjoy the second act as much as the first and third but still very good!

Attended with 3 teens while vacationing in Greece. Dancing and music was very professional: slow paced, measured and formal. Expected some audience participation. Maybe not the best choice for kids.
Dont waste money expecting to see dance shows in a tavern! For only 15 euros you get the best company, which researches the etnology of each regional dance and performs them in an open air theather at the Acropolis foothills. Rich costumes and jewelry plus 8 musiciens add to the show!

Unfortunately, my review is not positive. The dance company cancelled the performance due to weather. The rain lasted about 7 minutes. We stayed in the area for about an hour and the weather was fine. They ticket office refused to reimburse our tickets because we put purchase them on line with Tripadvisor. Not sure how I can get my money back. The management of Dora Stratou is lacking. The customer service is not present. This enterprise along with Tripadvisor's ability to sell tickets that tourists cannot have reimbursed appears to be a scam. Dora Stratou ability to so quickly cancel the event may be considered another scam. We waited time, ticket money, and taxi money. The location is not very accessible.

First of all, the dance company has to cancel the performance even if it rains for some minutes for two main reasons: the one that the seats are wet and second the stage remains slippery and as a result dangerous for the dancers to perform. Thoroughly enjoyed this show. Best way to end our trip to Athens. Wonderful energy and so entertaining. Being in the lovely outside theatre was a bonus.
Cancelled the show without informing me, they had my mobile number waisted the taxi money to and from from city center.
Well, the costumes were brilliant and the music lovely. The dancers were talented and skilled. However, the choreography was, for the most part, boring. If you were to go to a wedding and repeat the same steps over and over again, it might be fine. However, as a viewer, the amount of repetition made for a lack of interest in the performance. At the end, the dancing became livelier and more varied and consequently, more exciting. Beware! Do not walk in the park to get to the theater but take the sidewalk as much as possible. I got bit by a dog whose owners appeared stoned out of their minds. Pretty upsetting incident.
