So glad I did this trip. Breathtaking scenery. Loved loved loved the opportunity to swim in a new rock pool every day. Our guide Mishka was awesome. Knowledgeable, patient, funny. The hikes are challenging, requiring a good level of fitness and balance. I wouldn’t have had the confidence to do some of hikes on my own but managed to surprise myself under Mishka’s guidance. Camps are great with clean amenities including hot showers and flushing toilets. There is Telstra service at the camps and Jabiru but not elsewhere. My fellow trippers were a lot of fun which also contributed to my enjoyment. You spend a lot of time together so it makes a big difference if you get along. Highly recommend this trip.
Mishka took us on the adventure of a lifetime. Had us climbing things I had never thought I could. And saved my life at least once
This was a great itinerary for exploring Kakadu. Our guide, Mishka, was outstanding in facilitating this adventure with his knowledge of Aboriginal culture, history, geography, flora, fauna, etc. He was easy to approach with questions and requests and provided a good combination of trekking, walking, info sessions, rock scrambling and plunge pools! The Yellow Sea cruise was a highlight. Camp life was comfortable and enhanced by full moon lighting. In all aspects, a great tour.
I recommend this tour to everyone who wants to discover more of Kakadu! Special thanks to Mishka, our enthusiastic and interesting guide! The drives through the bush and the walks were outstanding.
We had a great 5 days with our tour guide Russell exploring Kakadu. Some of the main benefits of this tour over the 3 day are the smaller groups (we were a group of 6 vs 12-17) and the extra stops included in this tour. With the smaller group our itinerary was more flexible depending on what the group wanted to do, Russell was always open to suggestions and usually gave us a few options for what to do each day. At each site we ventured to additional areas, we went to a beautiful secluded lake at Jim Jim falls and Russell was good at staying away from larger tour groups so you felt like it was just you and the scenery. Our tour also went to Koolpin where we walked up the escarpment, admired the views and swam in the many pools to cool off; since they limit admission to the park, you pretty much have the place to yourself. Our guide Russell was great, he initiated lots of conversation within the group but didnt force it. He had an extensive knowledge of the park's wildlife and history, we would have missed the significance of so many plants which sometimes just looked just like any other. We also learned a lot of about aboriginal culture, including some of the important stories, sites and rock art history. This was definitely one of the highlights of my time in australia - would highly recommend to anyone who likes scrambling and swimming in rock pools with amazing views. Definitely remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, good walking boots and mosquito repellent.
Yesterday I came back from the 3 day Kakadu and Arnhemland tour and I have to say it was one of the best tours I have done in Australia! It was the perfect combination on Nature, adventure and culture. Our Guide was great! Russell is very knowledgeable, professional and a lot of fun, and also a good photographer haha. The day to Arnhemland was the cherry on the cake! So good to finally experience the real Aboriginal culture. The accomodation style and food are very good, even though its a budget tour. Simple but healthy and clean! Couldn't have asked for more!
