Went on the 3 hour trip as get food and drink with it, food was ok and enjoyed seeing the dolphins and whales but it was just a boat trip there was not any interaction or entertainment from the crew. Ragnarok boat was better as they were more interactive.
Good experience and good explanation.
What a... what's written here. A shame how tourists are exploited. The boat will be packed with more tourists than allowed. They feed but you can't sit properly, let alone eat. After 2 hours of boat riding at abrisk pace not a single dolphin or whale spotted. This tour is definitely not recommended
Dear guest, Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you joined us on the excursion, but we must respectfully clarify several statements that are simply incorrect. First, the Royal Delfín operates under strict maritime regulations and inspections. We do not exceed our authorized capacity. In fact, although the vessel has 222 seats available, we voluntarily limit our excursions to a maximum of 200 passengers to provide additional comfort and space on board. Secondly, our vessel does not travel "at full speed for two hours." Whale and dolphin watching activities in Tenerife are regulated by strict environmental legislation, and our captains operate in accordance with these rules at all times. Regarding wildlife sightings, we are fortunate to operate in one of the best whale-watching areas in Europe, home to resident populations of pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins, which are present throughout the year. While sightings are never guaranteed with wild animals, we successfully observe cetaceans on the vast majority of our trips. Finally, the meal served on board is a complimentary service designed to complement the excursion. The main purpose of the experience is to enjoy the marine wildlife, the Atlantic Ocean and Tenerife's spectacular coastline. We respect all opinions, but we do not believe this review accurately reflects either the operation of our vessel or the experience normally enjoyed by thousands of guests each year. Kind regards, Tenerife Dolphin
Like pegs in a barrel, we could only sit below deck without a backrest and sun. Food was mediocre. Well and shaking on your lap not to eat in such an ant nest. No place to sit above deck. Glass boat but no glass seen. Whales and Dolphins on TV. It sucks.
Dear guest, Thank you for your review. We are sorry that the excursion did not meet your expectations, however we feel it is important to provide some context for future readers. The Royal Delfín is a large catamaran with multiple viewing areas, including the upper deck, the main deck, outdoor seating areas and our underwater viewing deck. Seating is not assigned, and passengers are free to move around the vessel throughout the excursion. The upper deck is naturally one of the most sought-after areas, especially on sunny days, but it is not the only place from which guests can enjoy the experience. We are also surprised by your comment regarding the underwater viewing area. The Royal Delfín is well known for its underwater windows, which are permanently accessible during the excursion and are one of the vessel's most distinctive features. They are certainly not "on TV" but real viewing windows located below sea level. Regarding the food, tastes naturally vary from person to person. The meal served on board is a complimentary addition to the excursion and not the primary focus of the trip, which is the observation of whales and dolphins in their natural habitat. Finally, we strictly follow all legal capacity regulations and voluntarily limit passenger numbers below the vessel's maximum authorized seating capacity. Describing the boat as "packed like sardines" does not accurately reflect the reality of the operation. We respect your opinion, but we believe this review focuses more on personal expectations than on the service that was actually provided. Kind regards, Tenerife Dolphin
What a truly unforgettable and incredible experience. From booking this with the tour guide right through to getting back on the coach to the hotel after the excursion, every moment of this activity was meticulously organised. The staff on the Royal Delfin boat were exceptional, SUPER informative, friendly and helpful. We must give a special shout out to Anya the host who spoke SIX languages and gave us great descriptions and information about everything we saw. And to Javier who professionally filmed the excursion, the videos are exceptional and it was really moving to relive this experience. However all staff were friendly, tri-lingual (at least!) and allowed us plenty of time for swimming at Los Gigantes, took us to the perfect areas to naturally see dolphins, whales and flying fish! They are very respectful of the marine life which was a huge plus. The lunch served was hot meatballs and rice, with a bread roll and fruit. It was delicious. The sangria, beer and soft drinks are unlimited and we couldn’t rate this activity any higher if we tried!
Boarding, helpfulness of staff, comfort of boat and ease of parking were all good. Dolphin and (small) whale viewing were also good when we went, with calm seas and excellent weather. Boat stopped and let us enjoy. But from a 3-hour trip, just under half the time was the good part - big fish viewing - and the other half a drag. Lunch reminded me of school lunches - awful, which doubly hurt as the island is full of excellent restaurants - and we didn't eat until after we landed, and swimming a wasteful non-event, as at those temperatures very few people were interested, with the rest of us sitting in the boat waiting for the return. You can hardly call it a swim even for those interested, as soon after dipping and experiencing the temperatures they quickly climbed back on board. The island is full of beaches and good restaurants, so Delfin should stick to what they can do best, sail and spot big fish and turtles. Leave the food to restaurants and the swimming to the beaches, why force 90% of your passengers to sit and wait for the 10% who want to jump in the water? You ask below if I would recommend it, giving only a yes/no option. On balance we are are glad we went, but let others decide on their own if they want to go - my No answer means neither yes nor no!
Dear guest, Thank you for your detailed feedback and for highlighting the positive aspects of your experience, such as the crew, the boat, the wildlife sightings and the overall organization. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed seeing dolphins and pilot whales in their natural habitat, which is indeed the main purpose of the excursion. Regarding the structure of the trip, the 3-hour Atlantic Cruise is designed as a complete sea experience, combining wildlife observation with a short swimming stop and a light lunch on board. These elements are clearly described in advance so guests know what to expect when choosing the excursion. That said, we actually offer different excursion options, including shorter cruises focused mainly on wildlife viewing without the swimming stop or lunch. Many guests enjoy the variety, while others prefer the shorter format, which is why we provide multiple choices so visitors can select the experience that best suits their interests. As for the meal, it is intended as a simple complimentary lunch, not a restaurant-style dining experience. Tenerife is indeed famous for its excellent restaurants, and we fully agree that those are the best places to enjoy a full culinary experience. Finally, the swimming stop is very popular for many guests who enjoy the opportunity to enter the Atlantic Ocean in a beautiful natural setting. Of course, participation is optional, and guests who prefer to stay on board are free to relax and enjoy the scenery. We appreciate your comments and hope they help future visitors choose the excursion format that best matches what they are looking for.
We were lucky to see cauldrons, dolphins and turtles. The very friendly crew and that catamaran had windows underwater. We had a great time...
Experience to forget. These gentlemen, to make a profit, send children / babies and elderly without any security, we spent the worst experience of our lives on this catamaran. As they left with wind and high seas, the way to get to los gigantes there were waves 2 meters high strong wind and all the people on the catamaran ... around us and including us vomited, my one-year-old son was really sick the entire excursion, surreal scenes came down vomit everywhere even from above vomited and went down the windows of the catamaran without words .. It was a real pain for us. They are truly unscrupulous people and conscience. What we did is not a tour is a real suffering lasting 4 hours and a half as for the weather conditions we did not see anything. And not to finish at the end of the tour we were also asked for a tip, maybe it was the only thing that was going to collect vomit and distribute envelopes to be able to vomit inside 🤣 Also we requested a refund and we were denied because they can not check the weather conditions but only the wallet, life and safety of people who just is not there. I advise you against choosing this agency because I am without any scruples.
Dear guest, We are sorry to read that you did not enjoy your excursion. However, we must strongly disagree with several of the statements made in your review. The safety of our passengers is, and always will be, our highest priority. Suggesting that we knowingly place children, infants, elderly passengers or any guest in danger is simply not true. Our excursions operate under strict maritime regulations, and the captain continuously assesses weather and sea conditions before and during every departure. If conditions are considered unsafe, the excursion does not sail. What you experienced was a day with a stronger sea state than usual. Unfortunately, seasickness can affect some passengers when sailing on the Atlantic Ocean, regardless of age or previous boating experience. While we genuinely sympathize with anyone who feels unwell at sea, seasickness itself is not evidence of unsafe operation. You also state that "nothing was seen," yet your excursion followed the planned route and operated under the supervision of professional crew members who have many years of experience navigating these waters. Furthermore, if conditions had truly been as dangerous as suggested, the vessel would not have been permitted to operate. As for gratuities, tips are entirely voluntary. No passenger is ever required or pressured to leave one. We understand that the weather affected your enjoyment of the day, and we are genuinely sorry that your family experienced discomfort. However, we do not believe it is fair to describe our company as "unscrupulous" when the decisions made on that day were based entirely on safety, professional judgement and compliance with maritime regulations. Kind regards, Tenerife Dolphin
Friendly attentive staff from boarding us on the boat to giving out great information about the whales and dolphins
Really good experience, nice boat good facilities and really friendly and welcoming staff. We got to see animals in a proper way, and got a lot of knowledge about animals and the area and how they take care of it.
