Al porto di Rotterdam, vedrai uno dei porti più grandi e trafficati del mondo: un vasto paesaggio di terminal container, navi da carico, raffinerie di petrolio e turbine eoliche che si estende lungo il fiume Maas e il Mare del Nord. È possibile osservare massicce gru che caricano e scaricano navi, innovativi hub logistici e moderne tecnologie portuali in azione.
Presso le Cube Houses vedrete una suggestiva serie di case inclinate a forma di cubo progettate dall'architetto Piet Blom. Ogni cubo è ruotato di 45 gradi e poggia su un pilastro esagonale, creando un affascinante bosco di forme geometriche. Mentre cammini tra di loro, ti sembrerà di essere dentro un’opera d’arte moderna. È possibile visitare il Museo Show Cube per vedere come le persone vivono effettivamente in queste case insolite e godere di una splendida vista della città dalle aree pedonali sopraelevate intorno a loro.
Al Kinde Molenkade – Ridderkerk De Schans, vedrete una bellissima fila di storici mulini a vento Olandesi che si ergono lungo i corsi d’acqua, parte di un sito Patrimonio dell’Umanità dell’UNESCO. Vivrai il classico paesaggio Olandese di canali, campi verdi e dighe, con 19 mulini a vento tradizionali che un tempo gestivano i livelli dell'acqua nei polder. Mentre cammini o pedali lungo i sentieri, puoi visitare i mulini a vento funzionanti, imparare come funzionano e goderti una vista tranquilla sulla campagna e il riflesso dei mulini nell'acqua, specialmente mozzafiato all'alba o al tramonto.
Al Dordrecht-Centrum, vedrai uno dei centri cittadini più antichi e affascinanti dei Paesi Bassi, pieno di canali storici, case medievali e piazze vivaci. Potrete passeggiare per le stradine fiancheggiate da monumenti, visitare l'imponente Grote Kerk (Grande Chiesa) con la sua alta torre ed esplorare boutique, caffè e gallerie d'arte in riva all'acqua. Noterai anche il patrimonio marittimo della città, con vecchi magazzini e barche ormeggiate lungo i porti, che conferiscono a Dordrecht un'atmosfera calda e autentica Olandese.

I wanted to let you know that this tour is much longer than 2 to 3 hours. To do it properly. It needs 4 to 6 hours due to water bus transport is uncertain times and you could miss the bus and delay the whole tour. I was not able to finish the tour based on that. Also need to put in the information that you need to start early by 9 o’clock so you can get everything done. Also, the GPS was off. There is a lot of construction going on in Rotterdam so that following the guided tour was a problem because you had to figure out alternate paths to get to the next location. The extended the trip by at least an hour. I was not able to go to the last city on the tour due to timing. I like the information it provided for the historical significance. I just wish the option to start and complete. The water bus options were first. You can always do the tour for the city last.
The jetty where you get the boat is quit disorganised. We also booked a trip that went to both Kinderdiijt & Dordrecht. However after visiting the windmills we were told we had to go back to Rotterdam and get a different boat to Dordrecht which didnt work for us as we had something else booked. It seemed a little ineffecient as well as the route to Dordrecht looked similar and it looked easier to just continue from Kinderdiijt. So if you book this trip leave plenty of time.
There needs to be clearer information on how the tour works. The running time is inaccurate. It did not include water bus movement. Other than the above, I did see places i would not have found without the guide. The audio history was really good. Maps are excellent. And I would say its good value for money. As its a self guided tour I would suggest you take the day to enjoy this. I enjoyed walking around the 3 areas, and if your ticket only has 2 stops noted. Don't worry the water bus will accept for the 3rd area to visit. Go explore! Lots of photo ops!
Great day and interesting lace to visit. Waterbus did not really run on posted schedule. Interesting to see city from water perspective.
