Overall good, the explanations were brief and concise. GPS was stable. It's nice that you can interrupt the tour at any time. But a major problem is that the app drains the battery, and without a power bank, it cannot be completed. Under these circumstances, I would not do it again.
It was ver confusing which app to use for this tour. Once I got the right app, the app would not work. Then i reinstalled the app, it did start bit was difficult to start and kèp the app going. I have a Samsung S24. The Language kept changing and was hard to chage back to English. I finally gave up after only viewing 2 statues and 1 other landmark. Would not recommend.
Really disappointed with the app and information on how to get the map guide onto the phone. We started off okay but then started to loose GPS despite a strong WiFi signal. Clicking on continue didn't do anything so had to restart the app. After doing this for the umpteenth time in the pouring rain, we gave up about halfway round. Whilst it was working, it was really good however it was too flaky and very frustrating.
Thank you for your feedback. GPS signal unfortunately is something we don't have any control over. It depends on local circumstances, That's why we built in the option of listening to the stories by clicking the corresponding point on the map. WIFI has nothing to do with the GPS signal. The things you describe in your comment makes me believe you might have used the free WIFI of the city (often not of good quality)instead of your own internet connection. This might have caused the app to not respond.... it's not about bad software but about a bad connection. Sorry to hear you did not enjoy the experience the way we want you to. Why didn't you call our helpdesk? we would have loved to help you out...
This activity involves downloading an app, so you will need access to mobile data. I found the app and the associated map a bit clumsy; just use Google Maps, its so much easier. Also be warned if you are part of a group then the other members cannot advance use the app/walking tour unless the main person is present to help advance the description to the next point of interest. I found with my phone (Samsung S10) the app used up a lot of battery. Even once I finished using the app, I had to uninstall it to bring my battery use back to "normal".
We wouldn't have seen all this without the audio guide. Plus the weather was beautiful. Rotterdam is a beautiful town.
At times it was a little off (just refresh) but an overall a good experience if you want to be on your own time. Plus, you cant beat the price!
This app was great for learning about all of the sites of Rotterdam. It was very informative. We loved that we could take our time to explore the city and go in whatever direction we wanted. It was also very inexpensive for the amount of information you get from it. I would definitely recommend using this app if you want to explore Rotterdam more leisurely.
