Look elsewhere for a better experience Cannot recommend this experience through “Royal Routes.” Yes, of course, don’t miss the Pantheon - that was amazing. But “meet our super friendly host” was perhaps the biggest stretch of imagination. I was tech-shamed by a man who grabbed my phone without permission away from me like a common pickpocket. And “collecting” the ticket meant if I didn’t have some specialty app, I was a fool who didn’t get my ticket. Avoid royal. Get your overpriced re-sell ticket elsewhere. The audio guide was decent though, just be ready for a pushy, unfriendly man to forcibly grab your phone out of your hands a SECOND time to gain access to it.
It’s a self-guided audio tour so make sure to have earbuds. The company rep that meets you was extra helpful as there was a cellular data outage when we went but he got the audio files downloaded on to our phones anyway. He walked us right up and we skipped the line. Good experience!
