There are so many churches in Rome that it's impossible to visit them all as a tourist, let alone get to know what makes each one unique. This is a fantastic tour if you want to get more intimate with the handful of more unique churches. Roberto was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgeable and passionate. 10/10 would do another tour with him to explore other churches the next time we visit Rome. Pro tip, grab lunch with Roberto afterwards! He took us to a local Italian restaurant in Rome with no tourists (from what we could tell) and helped ordered a bunch of daily specials we would have never seen on the menu.
Thank you for the fantastic review! I’m glad you enjoyed getting to know these special churches and that you liked the local lunch spot! Sharing those off-the-menu dishes with you was a pleasure. Hope to guide you again on your next visit to Rome!
This was one of my favorite tours I did while in Italy. Roberto was so knowledgeable. Every time we went in a church and looked at paintings, he had stories to tell. When you go into a church and know the history behind it, it makes it so much more meaningful. Some times, he talked very fast and then I couldn't understand him, but other than that, he was amazing, this tour was amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone while visiting Rome. Thanks Roberto, for the great history lessons of Rome!!
Thank you for the feedback! I’m glad the history brought the churches to life for you. I'll definitely keep an eye on my pacing next time, thank you for the gentle reminder! I really appreciate the recommendation.
The experience was beautiful and very informative. Our guide Roberto was very knowledgeable on the subject manner, he offered a lot of insight on the history of the Catholic Church and the architecture and sculptors as well as the noble families associated. Would definitely recommend this tour with Roberto. Was my top tour experience in Rome by far.
Thank you for the incredible feedback! I'm happy to hear that this was your top tour experience in Rome. Thank you for the high recommendation, and I hope to welcome you back to Rome in the future!
I have been to the Eternal City multiple times. Last year I learned about the small group tours offered by the Treasure of Rome. I joined three and they were guided by Roberto. His tours were truly remarkable. He is a great storyteller with profound knowledge of Rome. After his tours, every church, every piazza, every fountain, every fresco, every sculpture takes on a different visual and emotional response from me. I enjoyed his tours so much I came back this year for more. No hesitation recommending the tours.
Thank you so much for returning to tour with me again this year! It is the ultimate compliment to welcome back a seasoned visitor to the Eternal City. I am grateful of kind words about how our walks have changed how you view Rome's history. Thank you for your continued trust and for such a wonderful recommendation!
Had a wonderful, private tour with Roberto, to churches off the beaten path. Had thorough explanations of the significance of each church, the popes and saints involved, and the frescoes and statues I saw. Not a religious person, but enjoy this immensely from a historical perspective. Highly recommend!
Thank you for the fantastic review! I’m glad you enjoyed exploring Rome's hidden gems and the historical perspective. It was an absolute pleasure guiding you, and I truly appreciate the high recommendation!
This tour was a hidden gem. My wife and I were so glad we did this tour. Our guide Roberto was a studied historian and provided details we would have never discovered on our own. The historical significance of each church was amazing and the history and discussions of church history were fascinating. Even the background of Holy Doors was provided. Highly recommended for people interested in Rome history of the city and the church. Tour was over 3 hours so be prepared to walk and enjoy the sites and learn! Outstanding
Thank you very much for your kind and detailed review. I’m delighted to hear that you found the tour both enriching and insightful. I appreciate your recommendation.
Roberto was so amazing! We enjoyed our tour immensely!! He was very knowledgeable. These churches will forever remain in our minds. Pictures can never do justice for what we felt while experiencing it.
Thank you very much for your kind words. I’m delighted to hear that the experience left a lasting impression on you.
The tour of the Holy Doors was amazing. I've been to Rome before, but never took this tour! It really gives you a lot of knowledge of the religious side of Rome! All the different churches and Basillicas were stunning! Roberto was an excellent guide and added so much more depth to what we were seeing! I highly recommend you add this tour to your itinerary!
Thank you very much for your review. It’s wonderful to know that as a returning visitor you found the churches and basilicas enriching.
We originally took this tour in December 2025 and decided to repeat on our December 2026 trip to Rome. Much of the credit goes to our guide, Roberto, and his deep knowledge of the history of the Church. As 2025 is Jubilee year, we also wanted the opportunity to walk through the Holy Doors which we were able to do at two Basilicas on this tour: Santa Maria Maggiore and San Giovanni in Laterano. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting an immersive journey into the heart of the Catholic Church’s sacred traditions.
Thank you very much for your thoughtful review and for choosing to repeat the tour. I’m honored that you returned and that the experience continued to be meaningful for you. I hope to welcome you again on a future visit to Rome.
