The tour guide was great but we booked the full experience but that’s not what we experienced. We arrived at 1:45 at the meeting spot but had to contact the company to find where they were. They were at a different meeting spot and we were told the tour didn’t actually start until 2:30. The tour included a detailed tour of the Roman Forum. The Colosseum tour wasn’t as described, they brought us into the Colosseum and then we walked around on our own.
A scam!! Met at designated spot then marched over to get tickets 30-40 min away then returned to original designated spot which wasted another 30-40 min. Time wasted killed any chance of our completing the tour in time allocated. Poorly coordinated and way over-priced. We pay $300 for one hour in the Coliseum. I want some money back.

All services booked were provided, including access arrangements and a licensed guide. Due to current Colosseum operational and security procedures, certain steps may be required before entering the archaeological area. These procedures are outside our control and must be followed by all operators. While we understand your frustration regarding the time spent before entry, we respectfully disagree with the characterization of the experience as a "scam," as the tour was delivered and the booked services were provided. The tour guide was great, we skipped lines but I was disappointed the tour didnt include the underground section which I thought was part of the original your description so it was not a "full experience". The arena floor area doesnt add much to the tour as its just a small area that shows what you already see from the upper level.

Great tour from start to finish. We were near the site and the guide went out of his way to come find us! - the private tour with access to the Colosseum underground is a once in a lifetime experience. - highly recommend

We felt very lucky to get this Colosseum tour, especially because we waited until the last minute to book — only about six days before arriving in Rome. Considering it was a private tour, we found it to be very reasonably priced and absolutely worth it. Our tour guide, Antonello, was extremely knowledgeable and spent a great deal of time helping us truly understand what we were seeing. Starting at Palatine Hill, we learned about Julius Caesar, Augustus, the rise of Rome, and the political and cultural significance of the area. He explained not only the history of the Colosseum itself, but also the incredible structural and architectural achievements behind it. As Americans who had only been lightly exposed to Roman history, we found the experience fascinating and eye-opening. What made the tour especially memorable was Antonello’s personality. He had a great sense of humor and a genuine pride in Italy, which made the stories and history come alive. He also shared fun cultural insights about things that originated in Italy that many people take for granted today, which added a personal and entertaining touch to the experience. He gave us a very in-depth tour of the Colosseum itself, and even though it was pouring rain during part of the visit, we still felt like we received tremendous value. Unfortunately, because our scheduled time ended and the underground portion was literally flooded from the storm, we weren’t able to continue with him through the very end of the experience. However, we were still able to view the underground area from above, and honestly, we left feeling completely satisfied with everything we had learned and experienced. We highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a more personal, private, and educational experience of the Colosseum and ancient Rome.

A good experience, our guide was friendly, passionate about history and knew details that made every stop like the Colosseum and the Roman Forum come alive.
