Partendo, con un piccolo gruppo, dalla nostra agenzia di viaggi, vicino al Colosseo, sarai comodamente trasportato su un veicolo con aria condizionata, in uno dei luoghi più interessanti e visitati di Roma, le "catacombe" sulla Via Appia Antica. Paas dalle maestose Mura Aureliane e vieni nell'area archeologica della Via Appia Antica, immersa nel verde della campagna romana, scenderai nell'antico mondo delle Catacombe, una complessa rete di tunnel sotterranei tra i più lunghi del mondo, che occupa una superficie di circa quindici ettari, costituita da circa 60 chilometri di tunnel su più livelli. Le catacombe che visiteremo (San Calisto, San Sebastiano o Santa Domitilla), per il tuo tour cambieranno a seconda del giorno, ma da dove andremo, avrai l'opportunità di vedere antichi affreschi, cripte ricche di iscrizioni scolpite nella pareti, nicchie con resti ancora di scheletri, piccoli mausolei, sarcofagi, tombe e piccole cappelle che ancora oggi, dopo circa 2000 anni, sono ancora utilizzate per celebrare riti religiosi. Si ritiene che le Catacombe siano state create dal futuro papa Callisto I, allora diacono di Roma, sotto la direzione di papa Zefirino, ampliando gli ipogei paleocristiani preesistenti. Callisto stesso fu sepolto nelle Catacombe di Calepodius sulla Via Aurelia. Misurava 621 m (2.037 piedi) di lunghezza e 118 m (387 piedi) di larghezza e poteva ospitare oltre 150.000 spettatori. La sua forma completamente sviluppata divenne il modello per i circhi in tutto l'Impero Romano. Il sito è ora un parco pubblico.
Le Terme di Caracalla (in italiano: Terme di Caracalla) a Roma, in Italia, erano le seconde terme pubbliche romane più grandi della città, o terme. Situato tra il Colosseo e il Palatino, l'arco attraversa la Via Triumphalis, il percorso seguito dai capi militari vittoriosi quando entrarono la città in un corteo trionfale. This was a very good trip and Stephania was a very good guide. She was very kind and knowledgeable. Only thing to keep in mind is the heat in August so make sure to take an early tour. We took at 9:30 tour and it was very hot by the end. We also enjoyed the catacomb tour. We would have loved the driver to point out some of the sites we passed by but understand he wasn’t a tour guide. He was very kind and a great driver.

We originally booked the above and below the arena floor tour but the tour company had to cancel the tour 3-4 weeks before our trip so I booked this tour. We were pleased with the above ground tour as we got a lot of good history. We always had the catacombs on our list so this tour checked off two boxes. We were really happy with this tour as it got us to a cool place (not gonna lie) but exposed us to more of Rome’s engineering wonders! We also used the golf card transfer from the Colluseum to the catacombs and that was SO much fun zipping through the city …

The tour itself is split into 2 distinctive parts. Both were excellent. The organisation need a bit of work to make it easy to identify where to meet. May using what 3 words? The catacombs initially was confusing as we got picked up by a driver who took as there. With no idea what to do next and the driver did not speak much English. Afterwards we had to guess where to go to it go to the car. The driver was very friendly though

Experience started off bad from get go, I scheduled my trip to start at 11:00 knowing I was flying in from California and arriving to Rome airport at 7:33. The day before the pre booked excursion I was notified that they changed me to the 9:30 start time. I was very rushed to make the meeting time. I barely had time to stop at my hotel to drop off my luggage. No time to change into something more comfortable to the heat, no time to purchase water etc. the description stated we would be traveling in an air conditioned van, that never happened. We walked from the meeting point in the heat. The guide was very good, maybe a little long winded for me since a lot of the explanations was while we were in direct sun. After the colosseum portion of the tour, which ended around 12:30, I was advised the next portion of the tour to the catacombs wouldn’t be till 2:30. The details of the description does not say that. I paid over $230 per person for me and my wife, and do not think it was worth the hassle and confusion. I had to speak to the staff to get them to take me to the remaining portion of my excursion and they reluctantly got someone to take us at 1:30, which was in a golf cart, not the air conditioned van I was promised in the description I originally signed up for.

However, because you expressed a preference to anticipate the Catacombs visit rather than wait for the scheduled departure, we arranged an earlier golf cart transfer for you, which you accepted. This solution was organized specifically to accommodate your request and reduce your waiting time. We would also like to clarify what is included in the tour price: Colosseum entrance tickets, Catacombs entrance tickets, a guided tour of the Colosseum, a guided tour of the Catacombs, and round-trip transportation to the Catacombs. These services represent a comprehensive package that combines multiple attractions, transportation, professional guides, assistance, tax, platform commission, bank fees, insurance, and our markup. We are always open to constructive feedback and continuously strive to improve our services. Really great tour to amazing sites! Eva was our guide for the Colosseum and Forum. She was knowledgeable and engaging. It would’ve been nice though to have a few extra minutes just to “look around”. Paco was our driver to/from the Catacombs. The vehicle was a golf cart instead of air conditioned, but Paco was great…took us to drive by a couple “extra” sites that we definitely wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Obviously, the Colosseum, Forum and Catacombs were all spectacular. All in all, definitely recommend this tour!!

This tour is actually multiple tours combined. We first had the group tour of the Colosseum. There were 12 people in total. It was easy to find the meeting location and a short walk to the Colosseum. Being part of a group tour we were able to get into a shorter entry line. You still need to have a matching passport name and ticket, and go through a metal detector and bag screening. After the 2.5 hour tour, we then had 3 hours to wait until the 2nd part of the tour experience began for the visit to the Catacombs. The itinerary for this tour is confusing, there are two separate Catacombs listed, but you only go to one, and there are "pass by" locations listed but the driver does not point them out. There is no food provided on either tour. Overall, both tours were good and we'd do it again. The Colosseum tour guide was very knowledgeable.

Regarding the Catacombs, the tour description explains that the visit may take place at one of the listed Catacombs, depending on opening days, availability, and operational conditions. For this reason, guests visit either one Catacomb or the other, not both. The waiting time between the Colosseum tour and the Catacombs visit is intentionally scheduled to allow guests enough time to have lunch independently and to avoid the hottest hours of the day, especially during the summer season in Rome. Fabio was fantastic! We had a history lesson with each stop. All the food was excellent! Some things of which we never heard!!! The walk was easy and we were very full at the end of the tour. Highly recommend.
