Riserva Naturale Protetta delle Cesine: Escursione di un Giorno, in Bici da Lecce

L’area che separa Lecce dal mare testimonia la bellezza del paesaggio salentino e conserva ancora le tracce dell’importante ruolo che questa zona ha avuto nella storia. Risalendo da Lecce verso sud-est attraverso strade secondarie, raggiungeremo il borgo fortificato di Acaya, sito messapico dove potrete ammirare il maestoso castello medievale, le mura del borgo e la sua antica pianta urbana, ancora conservata. Poi ci sposteremo verso il parco naturale WWF “Le Cesine”, che nasconde molte belle piante e uccelli acquatici. Quindi ci rinfrescheremo con una bella nuotata a Torre Specchia e torneremo a Lecce attraversando un paesaggio ricco di ulivi e piccoli borghi

Itinerario
Passeremo per la città medievale di Acaya, dando un'occhiata al castello e alle sue mura difensive. Ci fermeremo nella piazza principale per una pausa "Caffé leccese" (caffè con ghiaccio e sciroppo di mandorle).
Pedaliamo attraverso questa riserva naturale ben conservata, dove sarai inebriato dall'odore di eucalipto e altre piante / alberi autoctoni.
Se il tempo è bello ci fermeremo qui per una sosta bagno, per rifocillarci nelle ore più calde e mangiare il panino che solitamente compriamo ad Acaya.
Di nuovo in pista attraversando alcuni piccoli paesi come Vanze e Strudà, dove possiamo fare una sosta. Percorrendo alcuni viottoli di campagna vedremo ulivi, riconoscibili per le loro dimensioni e per i tronchi, vere opere d'arte realizzate dalla natura. Torneremo a Lecce per vie secondarie tra le campagne.

We were in Salento with friends in May 2025 and booked the tour Lecce-Otranto-Gallipoli-Lecce with Salento Bici Tour. 1 week of great weather, beautiful landscapes, good hotels and good atmosphere among the international participants. Giulia from Salento Bici Tour did a fantastic job. We really enjoyed our trip through the countryside to the sea. She had interesting information to share about the area, kept a pace that was easy to follow and made sure we had adequate stops for breaks and refreshments. I highly recommend this tour.
when you meet special people by accident! I would call the experience with Carlo and his collaborators this. People passionate about their work, their land and meeting others. We agreed before our arrival in Puglia various trips and experiences (bicycles, kayaks, aperitifs, sailing, beach, etc.) because we were a large group with lively kids! Carlo's team satisfied us fully, giving a special flavor to this trip, like the figs tasted along the rides! If lying in the sun is not enough... I absolutely recommend it!
Beautiful experience. Carlo professional and very nice and his assistants really always ready to meet every need or whim of us customers. The places are great. We particularly enjoyed ride around Leuca. Tours also suitable for children. Highly recommended!
We did the tour with Giulia. It was just fantastic! A mix of culture, landscape and sympathy. I did the self guided tour. Good bike,well prepared and GPS worked really good. A nice route through Lecce city, the small vilages south of Lecce, the olive groves and to the see. Although, the olive groves are what is left of it, this because all the olive trees are dead caused by the bacteria.

Preparation, correctness and beauty of the places. We were able to reach the nature reserve along roads away from traffic and surrounded by nature. The visit was very nice with trained guides and refreshment attentive to my Food needs.
It was a perfect day to bike. Our inspiring guide Melo appeared to be an expert in nature and food. After a long ride in the suburbs of Lecce and the Cesine parc , we enjoyed a fantastic Picnic on the beach where Melo , chef in natural food, served us local dishes and great stories.
Cube woman bike and Scott.man bike. Scott was brand new. Both excellent quality, also for off road. We went to San Foca, some parts off road. Very nice lady giving advice. I would go there again.
