This was a hi light of our trip! Our host was so friendly and the meal was the best I had in all of Italy. Highly recommend!
Barbara and her husband were phenomenal hosts! They were very welcoming and also taught me and the other group I was with all the steps on how to make the perfect Tiramisu. For the pasta, we had the option of making it by hand or with a machine. We chose the machine, and the final result was delicious. The hosts opened their home to us and made it feel as though we were all old friends. Highly recommend!
Giulia (our chef) and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. We were a family of 4 - with 6 and 7 year old little chefs - and Guilia was patient, welcoming, and great company. She communicated the meeting spot to find the apartment and had everything set/timed perfectly for an enjoyable cooking class and meal. It was delicious and fun!
Giulia was amazing! She made us feel a part of her home. Best pasta I’ve had in Italy truly!! I definitely recommend doing this!
Giulia was such a pleasure! She was extremely patient with our three kids who were eager to learn how to make pasta from scratch and even taught us several Italian words. It was such a unique experience for our family that we will cherish for a lifetime.
This is a wonderful, authentic Italian cooking experience in a small group setting. Guilia was knowledgeable, patient, and truly made the time there enjoyable. Plus, getting to feast on a delicious meal (that you have just made from scratch) with your own hands is very rewarding! Also, come hungry! There was so much food - the wine, bruschetta, pesto, pastas, and the tiramisu were all delicious!
The view once you get to this beautiful home on a hill is well worth the many steps (pending you listen to Barbara's directions), and the conversation and lesson was even better. We learned how to make bruschetta salad, croxetti noodles, and traditional tiramisu, plus got some tips for local sauces – one quite close to cacio e pepe, but with a twist, and of course pesto and ragu. It was a great experience.
My wife & I had a wonderful time spending our afternoon learning how to make authentic Ligurian Tiramisu and pasta. Barbara & Stephano were wonderful hosts and really made everyone feel welcome. This was one of the best meals and some of the best company that we had during our honeymoon to the Italian Riveria. Barbara's home is located in the beautiful village of Riomaggiore, one of the outer villages of the Cinque Terre - it was a wonderful, peaceful place to have an incredible meal. One pro-tip, leave yourself enough time to arrive & get a taxi up to the home; we had a bit too much faith in the train arriving on time & were a bit delayed.
We had a great experience learning how to make pasta, pesto and tiramisu from scratch with Barbara and her husband. They welcomed us into their home and made us feel comfortable along with 6 other people taking part. Everyone was super friendly. We didn't have great weather on the day and so our class took place in her own kitchen, but this didn't detract from the experience. We were treated to lunch of frittata and topped bruschetta with wine, before then having dinner with the pasta we made and the tiramisu for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious and we learned some great recipes to take home with us! Definitely worth the price and an unforgettable experience in the hills of the beautiful town of Riomaggiore! You can walk to Barbara's house from the town, it is a lot of climbing up some steep steps but that just adds to the experience. Also, make sure you follow Barbara's instructions and not Google as we ended up climbing higher than we needed to! Highly recommend!
Barbara and Stefano are exceptionally welcoming hosts. We had a fantastic afternoon in a beautiful setting. Barbara is a great teacher. She shared delicious recipes and important techniques to achieve the delicious results. We were very warmly welcomed and enjoyed every minute of this experience. Highly recommend! GRAZIE!
