We had an excellent experience on the Reykjavík food tour. Our guide Agla was excellent, she made the tour fun and informative. The stops were well thought out and each offered a unique cuisine. Trying the Greenland shark was quite the experience!
Do it! We had an excellent, knowledgeable guide in Stevie. It was not just about the food but the whole history of the city. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
The food was good and I love Reykjavik but the real treat was our guide, Dagur. An Icelander with great English, he set a light, inclusive tone that created a friendly group feeling and he managed our ragtag, sometimes straggling flock expertly. He shared lore about Icelandic culture but also showed up as himself — and what’s more important about any country than the people?
What great food! And our guide, Day Larusson, put the dishes in the context of Icelandic culture and values so that I could really appreciate the choices. This was my way of starting my Iceland adventure—with a fully belly and restaurant recommendations to use around Reykjavík!!
This was a last minute adventure for us, and we’re SO glad we did it! Mimir was our guide and was fantastic- geniune, funny, and very knowledgeable of the city. This was a wonderful way to visit the Reykjavík , sample authentic Icelandic foods, and learn some things about the culture of Iceland. Highly recommend!!! My 13 old son LOVED this so much! Wish we could go again!
We had an amazing food tour with Haddy, and I can’t recommend him enough! From the moment the tour started, he was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing Iceland’s food, history, and culture. Haddy was hilarious and kept the group laughing throughout the tour, but he was also incredibly knowledgeable. No matter what questions we asked, he always had an interesting answer and was happy to explain more. You could tell he really enjoys what he does, and that passion made the experience so much more memorable. The food was fantastic, but Haddy is what truly made the tour special. His personality, sense of humor, and ability to make everyone feel included turned what could have been just a meal into one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. If you’re lucky enough to get Haddy as your guide, you’re in for a great time. Thank you for such a fun and unforgettable experience!
Day was an awesome guide! You could see his passion for Iceland and making sure we all enjoyed our adventure. This was the second time we have done this food tour. Today was just as awesome as the first time!
We had such a wonderful time on the Reykjavík Food Walk! Our guide was young, energetic, fun, and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. He was extremely well organized and kept the tour moving at the perfect pace while making sure everyone felt included. His knowledge of Reykjavík, Icelandic history, culture, and local food was impressive, and he shared interesting facts in a way that was engaging and easy to follow. You could tell he genuinely loves his city and enjoys introducing visitors to it. Visiting five different local restaurants gave us a fantastic variety of Icelandic food that we probably never would have discovered on our own. The combination of great food, fascinating stories, and his upbeat personality made this one of the highlights of our trip. If you’re visiting Reykjavík, don’t miss this tour. It was fun, informative, delicious, and incredibly well run. Highly recommend!
Great tour to really nice places. Karitas was amazing.
Bonnie was an excellent tour guide and very kind. We missed the beginning of the tour due to a late flight arrival, but were delighted to find that Bonnie had emailed us allowing us to catch up with the tour at the first restaurant. In the end we missed nothing.
