The beauty you see in pictures is very accurate, the beaches were amazing. Our guide was very good and knew what she was doing. I would like to give 5 stars but when we paddled out to see the seals the guide was so worried about breaking some rule that we didnt even get close while other people did, and really we could not see them and zoomed away too soon. When we were close to beaches it was great but we went out in the deep most of the time and nothing to see but big waves. We put kayaks together and did some sailing which was awesome. Overall it was worth it for the beaches and tour operators are excellent.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re really glad to hear you loved the beaches and that your guide helped make the day enjoyable — we’ll be sure to pass that on. As part of our Department of Conservation marine mammal permit, we’re required to keep a minimum distance of 20 metres from seals and other wildlife. These guidelines are in place to protect the animals and ensure they aren’t disturbed, even if others may appear to get closer. Conditions and wildlife can vary day to day, and sometimes paddling further out is needed to travel safely or make the most of the route. Great to hear you enjoyed the kayak sailing — it’s always a highlight! Thanks again for your feedback, we really appreciate it.
Daz (our guide) was excellent and we had a wonderful time! We paddled hard at some points and lunch was excellent! Loved all the info he gave us.
Thanks so much for your review! Daz will be stoked to know you enjoyed the paddle, the lunch, and all the information he shared along the way.
We had a whole day kayaking including a lunch with Dat AND it was great! The environment is beautiful and Daz made every tree interesting with stories and facts.
Thanks so much for your lovely review! We’re stoked to hear you had such a great full day out on the water and enjoyed the lunch too. Daz will be thrilled to hear his stories and knowledge helped bring the landscape to life. Thanks for joining us.
An absolutely spectacular experience kayaking in the Abel Tasman marine reserve with our two teens. Our guide, Ed, was engaging and enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable about the birds and sea life. The prepared lunch was fantastic, and we even had plunger coffee. Wonderful beaches, and really just a fabulous day.
Thanks so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you had such a lovely day kayaking in the Abel Tasman marine reserve with your teens. It is a great activity for teens. Ed will be stoked to know his enthusiasm and knowledge about the birds and sea life helped make the experience so special. Plunger coffee on the beach is always a win . Thanks for joining us, and we’d love to welcome you back for another adventure in Abel Tasman!
Amazing way to learn about the history, geology, fauna and wildlife of the marine reserve and New Zealand in general.
Beautiful scenery, great guides. Full day of sea kayaking with several stops on beaches for snack and bathroom breaks and lunch. It was windy and the water was very rough so we weren't able to go as far north as is advertised for this tour. Still it was worth it. Very well organized and instructions were provided. Be advised that launching and landing kayaks were done by the kayakers, not by the guides, so some experience would be helpful. We were fortunate to see kakas fly over twice (rare parrots that have been reintroduced into the national p) and it was gratifying to see how excited the guides were about seeing them. Guides provided excellent information about the park and the ongoing environmental restoration activities. Lunch was very good.
Thank you for your review! We're so glad you enjoyed the stunning scenery and found our guides knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It’s always a special moment to spot the kaka in the wild! We appreciate your understanding about the route adjustment due to the weather—safety is always our priority, and we are pleased that the trip was a highlight of your NZ trip.
LOVED this tour! Our guide was knowledgeable, safe, and funny. He guided us to beautiful lagoons, outcroppings with fur seals, and pointed out lots of birds. Perfect trip with our young adult and teen kids!

Can absolutely recommend this company. They organised a tramping trip combined with a kayak trip. Did all the bookings, answered endless emails and were so helpful. All the staff were incredibly friendly. The marine tour itself was a highlight. Our guide was brilliant and it was no problem that I'd never kayaked before. The equipment was great and all in all just a fabulous experience. Thanks guys!

He was incredibly knowledable and also a great cook. The food and provided alcohol were just exceptional. I felt safe taking my two daughters , aged 12 and 14. The scenery was just stunning and we were so lucky with weather Saw heaps of seals. The camping equipment was easy to use . We did a few side walks which were great. I would 100% do this again!
