ecoleta cemetary is one of the must do sights of Buenos Aires, and you could do it by just buying a ticket and looking at the spectacular mausoleums, but you'd miss so much. The tombs tell the story of Buenos Aires, and Victoria took us on a tour, not just of the cemetery, but of the history and development of the city. The tour leads you through the urban legends surrounding some of the graves, how some people ended up being there, how forever isn't necessarily forever (if your family can't afford the upkeep) and of course the story of the convoluted path Eva Peron took to her (hopefully) final resting place. Great tour. and guide.
Had the tour with Victoria and she was amazing. A mix of Argentina history, local characters, urban legends and ghost stories a nice picture of an overwhelming place to tour on your own. The meet up was easy the tour was well paced and Victoria was clearly knowledgeable about the cemetery. Would recommend 100%
It was in English. They are very deceitful when they sell it to you. I do not recommend them. The tour omits important tombs.
Hola!
The guide (Mariana) was amazing! Very profesionnal, the storytelling was great. We recommend !
We took three teenage boys on the Recoleta cemetery tour and had a great time. Victoria was extremely knowledgeable and Informative, and presented the tour in an engaging manner. We enjoyed the tour so much that we signed up for another tour she was leading the next day!
Mariana was our very knowledgable guide for the Recoleta Cemetery tour. She likes to tell a few ghost stories, but she is also very knowledgable about the construction of the mausoleums and their history regarding property and family rights. It was very interesting and well paced. She was also very open to questions.
Well organized and interesting. Mariano is a very knowledgeable and excellent tour guide. Perfect English and Spanish.
Very interesting, stories and architecture, recommended.
The visit to the cemetery is much more worthwhile with the guide. The tour is quite simple and quick and does not have a fixed format, but rather the guide adapted it to the questions. As an Argentine, I entered and accessed the guide for free at a meeting point at the entrance. There is the option to do it alone and also to stay and explore after the guided tour, which is the best option. An introduction and freedom afterwards to get lost, explore, and take photos. A minimum amount of prior reading of information is recommended to visit specific tombs or monuments. The guide is excellent. No reservation for entry tickets or the guide is required prior to arrival.
Marianna was great. Provided a wealth of knowledge, was engaged, answered questions. It was very easy to hear and understand It was a great experience.
