Maria is excellent. Great communication. Very happy. Vehicles, drivers, cooks, attendants, guides - everyone was pleasant, happy and respectful.
Thank you for the good review and thank you for traveling with Kalahari Breeze. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your safari with us and our hospitality and are looking forward to welcoming you in Botswana again one day.
Our two-week trip through Botswana was perfectly organized thanks to Maria and her team from Kalahari Breeze. They responded to all our wishes, especially the needs of our father with walking disabilities. The safari, the game camping in the Okavango Delta and the boat safari in Chobe were unforgettable. A highlight was the night under the stars in the salt desert. We also visited the diamond mine in Orapa and ended up admiring Victoria Falls. Thanks to the excellent planning, we have experienced and learned an incredible amount in a short time. Highly recommended!
Ganz herzliche Grüße vom ganzen Kalahari Breeze team an deine ganze Familie
Such an amazing experience! Our guide Michael was also fantastic! Definitely made the experience that much better having such a fun and knowledgeable guide that we all still keep in touch with
I had a fantastic time on the 8-Day Highlights of Botswana & Victoria Falls Overland Tour. Everything went smoothly from start to finish – the entire experience felt safe, well taken care of, stress-free and thoughtfully planned. The logistics were seamless, and the itinerary was well-paced. The staff were incredibly warm, professional, and attentive. From comfortable accommodations to thoughtful touches along the way, it’s clear that the team truly cares about the guests' experience. I felt both relaxed and engaged throughout the journey. This was a very good experience overall, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore Botswana and Victoria Falls in a relaxed and well-managed way.
Thank you for this wonderful review and thank you again for traveling with Kalahari Breeze. It has been our absolute pleasure to show you and your friends a bit of Botswana. You ladies are amazing and we hope to welcome you in Botswana again one day so that we can show you more of our beautiful country.
I'm writing this review seven months after our trip, as I like to let experiences settle and see how they age in my memory. I can confidently say that our 8-day adventure with Kalahari Breeze was nothing short of extraordinary. It exceeded our wildest expectations, and the attention to detail and level of service were outstanding. Maria, the company's president, set the tone for excellence with her exceptional communication. She thoroughly prepared us for what to expect and maintained contact throughout our journey, ensuring our satisfaction at every step. Her dedication to customer service truly enhanced our experience. The highlight of our trip was wild camping in the Okavango Delta, where Master, our guide, proved worthy of his name. His expertise in tracking and spotting wildlife was remarkable—he seemed to have a sixth sense for finding animals we never imagined seeing (such as African Wild Dogs and Civets). The authentic camping experience deep in the delta gave us an intimate connection with the wilderness that would be impossible to achieve otherwise. Our camp chef deserves special recognition for transforming simple ingredients into culinary masterpieces in the middle of the bush. Every meal was a delightful surprise, especially the freshly baked bread that made our mornings magical. The quality and creativity of the food was top-notch (and our somewhat picky son kept going back for more). One of our memorable experiences was spending a night under the stars at the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. We were blessed with an incredible sight—a shooting star streaking across the sky for nearly 20 seconds, creating a moment we'll never forget. The following morning, we visited the Meerkat colony, which was equally enchanting. Special thanks to Twe and his brother from the Sun People, whose knowledge added depth to our understanding of this unique landscape. At Elephant Sands, we had breathtaking close encounters with elephants in their natural habitat. The Chobe National Park game drive and river cruise offered excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Victoria Falls provided a magnificent (soggy!) finale to the journey. What sets Kalahari Breeze apart is their seamless blend of adventure and comfort, authentic experiences, and professional service. We particularly appreciated that they exclusively employ local staff, which supports the community and enriches the experience immensely. There's nothing like exploring Botswana's wilderness with guides who have grown up in these landscapes and know them intimately. Every staff member we encountered contributed to making this trip memorable, and the attention to detail was evident throughout the journey. Kalahari Breeze delivers an experience that perfectly balances wild adventure with comfort, led by passionate professionals who genuinely care about creating unforgettable memories for their guests. Tips for future travelers: • Opt for the wild camping in the Okavango Delta - it's an unparalleled experience • Bring a good camera - the wildlife viewing opportunities are exceptional • Trust your guides - their expertise will enhance your experience immensely
Thank you a lot for your wonderful review and for traveling with Kalahari Breeze. It's been our absolute pleasure having you on our tour and we hope to welcome you of another one of our safari experiences in the future.
We booked a last minute trip with Kalahari Breeze and had an absolutely brilliant time seeing so many amazing animals. Kalahari is a small Botswanan based firm but were extremely professional, courteous and everything worked like clockwork. On our trip we met other travellers who did not know from one day to the next where they were staying as their company kept changing their itinerary, but everything worked perfectly for us. Before we booked Maria responded to all our questions within hours and put together a comprehensive programme. We stayed in 5 different places and had a number of guides and cars and every single connection was on time. One of the advantages of a smaller firm is the personal service and local knowledge. We "wild camped" in the Okavango Delta for two nights run by Kalahari Breeze directly and our guide was from a village only 5 miles away and knew exactly where to find a pride of lions eating and playing, could spot a hyena under a bush at huge distance and found more elephnats than one could reasonably expect to see in a lifetime. We were also able to visit his village and its' school and met some of his family. The other places we stayed in and safari events were run by other locally owned firms and the guides were equally good although only "mid-range" accomodation it was more than adequate and everything was so well co-ordinated by Kalahari Another highlight for us was the night spent sleeping under the stars on the Magkadikgadi Pans and seeing the meerkats on the way there. OVerall i would strongly recommend going with Kalahari Breeze Safaris

Maria and Chris are excellent, informative and responsive. The trip ran extremely smoothly and we loved every minute of our time in Botswana. I’d fully recommend Kalahari breeze if you’re looking for the perfect experience!
Thank you, Syra. It has been our pleasure showing you our beautiful country. We hope to welcome you again one day.
We had the most amazing 8 day tour in Botswana that was perfectly organised by Chris and Maria. We went on a diverse range of safaris and stayed in some wonderful places. We were very well taken care of and couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Thank you for the great feedback. We are happy to read you enjoyed your safari with us. It would be our absolute pleasure to welcome you and your friends in Botswana again.
This has been a difficult review to write. We have been on 4 African safaris and this was our second mobile camping safari in Botswana. We wanted to take our daughter, husband and three children (13, twins age 9) on what we hoped would be an extremely memorable and exciting trip. All of our previous safaris have been excellent and memorable. We chose the mobile safari because we knew what to expect…or so we thought. The beginning in Okavango Delta was wonderful. Then we headed to Moremi. Unfortunately, our tents did not move with us and arrived extremely late. The crew was trying to set up the tents and cook dinner well after dark. We had dinner at 9:30PM. Two of the cots did not come with the tents so two of our group had to sleep on the ground. When we moved to Savute we had a similar issue with the tents arriving quite late but not as late as in Moremi and all the cots arrived. Throughout the bush camping the guide and staff were very good and helpful. They did have problems with wood supply as we needed wood to cook our meals and for the campfire. We did not have many nice campfires. We had ongoing problems with meals. The quality was not as we had hoped. Some meals were good while others were lacking. A 75th birthday dinner was potato soup, mashed potatoes and steak. The cook did make a cake. We requested no steak for our 9 year-old granddaughter over a month before our safari and we were served steak 3 times without any options for her. Breakfasts varied but we had to request eggs or protein for the children before going on our 5-6 hour game drives. No snacks were provided until the last 2 days, we took fruit from the breakfast table. When we returned around 1:00-1:30, most times we were served “English breakfasts consisting of sausage, beans and bread. We were told that Maria was the one who planned the meals. We were given the cost of the safari and we agreed to the charges. We were to go from Maun to Chobe via safari vehicle. Later, Maria suggested that we fly (for an extra charge) from Savute to Chobe because the roads were rough and it was a long drive. We agreed knowing that the drives between the parks were long and rough and the children might be tired. This was decided in the fall, perhaps around November. There were no criteria or mention of luggage until we made our final payment one month before our safari. Maria then said that we had to have duffel bags and they could not have any wheels because of bush plane regulations. Our daughter and family were continuing on to Amsterdam after the safari so needed suitcases. Maria said that they would take the suitcases to Chobe for a fee. We felt we had already paid for the transportation of ourselves to Chobe so felt that even though we were flying, instead of driving, they could drive our suitcases to Chobe. We did not understand why we had to pay extra. There were several other issues but we felt we listed the most important ones. Kalahari Breeze did not live up to our expectations and we feel that their organization was lacking. Maria was challenging during several interactions when discussing planning and implementation of the safari. Usually, when a company has issues such as we mentioned, someone from the company apologizes or recognizes the problem. We never heard anything from Maria or anyone else.
Hello, David and Twyla. First of all thank you for choosing to travel with us on your Botswana Safari. We regret that your safari experience with us was less than ideal and it seems it did not meet your expectations. We accept the criticism to some of our post covid operational hiccups that led to two stretcher beds missing for one night of your Moremi tour. It is however surprising to hear most of your complaints for the first time here on this platform, considering that I was constantly checking up on you and your family to attend to your requests for extra amenities and provisions during various stages of your safari tour. As the owner of the company I was in constant communication with you in camp and even travelled to camp when your granddaughter was not feeling well to checkup on her. and as I recall the food was not even mentioned once as being unsatisfactory at any stage of the tour. I even personally brought the 8 extra luggage suitcases from Maun to Kasane to meetup with you after your bush safari and I took the time to get feedback from you and your family before you checked in the hotel. The only complaint of note that you mentioned was that the alcohol allocation was insufficient and I promptly apologized for that due to the misunderstanding that occurred on booking the alcohol package that you decided on. The luggage regulations are not for us to decide, they are regulations stipulated by the airline companies. we simply just comply. We could have risked taking your extra luggage with you on safari in a luggage trailer and it would have been bounced around and maybe even damaged on the rough terrains but we chose to offer you a more efficient luggage transfer from Maun to Kasane via tarred road and yes the service was a billable service that you agreed to. When you processed your booking, the airline companies had a rate which we used to quote your transfer, and a few days before your travel that rate was increased by all airline companies due to the sudden increase in fuel prices worldwide, We immediately informed you of this situation and as a I recall you had no problem paying the extra fees levied on your booking. Maria is a very experienced reservationist and organizationally proficient, she does her best to advise our clients of what to expect on our safaris and plans the best possible itineraries with the aim of maximizing our clients safari experiences according to our local expertise and knowledge. Once again, we thank you for travelling with us and we wish it could have been a better experience for the both of us. We hope your next safari destination will bring much better memories. Kind regards Chris
Kalahari Breeze is THE BEST way to go if you want to see the southern Africa. Maria and Chris are truly AMAZING. They were kind, attentive, listened to what I wanted to do and made sure my trip was everything I wanted. One of the best experiences of my life for sure.
