Prelievo dal tuo hotel e prosegui verso Fort Jesus costruito dai portoghesi nel XVI secolo. Il sito scelto era una cresta corallina all'ingresso del porto ed è stato costruito per garantire la sicurezza dei portoghesi che vivevano sulla costa orientale dell'Africa. Ha avuto una lunga storia di ostilità da parte delle parti interessate che vivevano a Mombasa. Gli arabi dell'Oman attaccarono il forte dal 1696 al 1698. Tra il 1837 e il 1895, il forte fu utilizzato come caserma per i soldati. Quando il 1° luglio 1895 fu proclamato il protettorato britannico, il Forte fu trasformato in prigione. Il forte è ora un importante punto di riferimento storico nella regione dell'Africa orientale.

Nel pomeriggio visita al Parco Naturale del Dr. Rene Haller (Haller Park), ex cave ora rimboschite e che ospitano numerosi animali. Attualmente, Haller Park ospita una varietà di animali selvatici tra cui ippopotami, giraffe, bufali e antilopi, coccodrilli, nonché piccoli mammiferi e uccelli. Il parco è costituito da un Game Sanctuary, un Reptile Park, una piccola area dimostrativa di allevamento ittico, un giardino di palme, recinti di coccodrilli e una piattaforma di osservazione delle giraffe, che offre una varietà di attrazioni nei vari punti per educare e intrattenere gli oltre 160.000 visitatori che visitano il parco ogni anno.

Enjoyed this trip very much, got to see a lot of the city and the guide (Anthony) was very friendly. Made you feel very welcome and easy to talk with. Especially loved the woodworking place and see how the people were making all kind of wooden stuff, from statues to furniture. You get to see a lot of things in one day and to be guided makes this really worth your time. It is a lot to take in, but worth it in my opinion. I chose the private tour option, it costs slightly more, but made the tour feel more personal. Would recommend this doing private (solo or with your group)

t was a great experience. Driver was super nice and guide showed us around and kept as safe. Since we were in Diani we payed 40$ additionally - that seems fair. There was a bit of unpleasant surprise when we needed to pay for all the entrances frees even tho on website says they are included. But Manager later contacted us, apologized and they returned the money we payed!
