La tomba di Ramesse III, designata come KV 11, è un sistema complesso nella Valle dei Re. Nella mitologia egizia, Ptah è il demiurgo di Menfi, dio degli artigiani e degli architetti. La tomba di Ramses IV (KV 2) nella Valle dei Re è piuttosto diversa dalla maggior parte delle altre tombe costruite qui. Questa tomba è di gran lunga la più spettacolare delle altre tombe che vedrai. I geroglifici sul muro raffigurano scene della Litania di Ra, del Libro dei Morti, del Libro delle Caverne, del Libro dei Cieli, del Libro di Amduat e del Libro della Notte. I colori blu e bianco sulle pareti all'interno della camera funeraria sono molto vibranti e si può vedere il sarcofago del re realizzato in granito color rosa. C'è anche una bellissima scena della dea Nut sul soffitto, dove è raffigurata mentre ingoia il sole, che viaggia attraverso il suo stomaco, perché Nut lo dia alla luce. La tomba ha così tanti colori e dettagli persino il soffitto sopra i sarcofagi con la sua dea Nut che si estende attraverso lo spazio. Il sarcofago è uno dei più grandi della valle, anche se alcuni dipinti si sono deteriorati questo è uno dei più decorati.

Colossi di Memnone – Guardiani dell’antica Tebe Sorgendo maestosi dal Luxor tebano, i Colossi di Memnone sono due imponenti statue di pietra del faraone Amenhotep III, ciascuna alta circa 18 metri. Queste imponenti figure hanno vegliato sulla Valle del Nilo per oltre 3.400 anni, accogliendo i viaggiatori e custodendo le rovine del magnifico Tempio Mortuario di Amenhotep III. Originariamente costruiti per onorare il faraone come un dio nell'aldilà, i Colossi facevano parte del più grande complesso di templi dell'antica Tebe, oggi perduto a causa delle inondazioni e del tempo. Our guide was very informative, but was unable to go in the tombs with us. He pointed out things for us to look for before going in. Valley of the Kings is very hot in July so bring a lot of water.

The complete visit to the Valley of the Kings was amazing. I would not have expected so much beauty, especially in the tombs of Seti I and Ramsete IV. The tomb of Tutankhamun is also worth a visit, if only for the fame of the treasure on display in Cairo. It also deserves the temple of Hatshepshut, a masterpiece that has endured through the millennia. Khalid showed us the most deserving things, explaining everything with great competence. This tour is highly recommended! We took a balloon ride booked through the same company so our guide met us afterwards. The tour was well organized. Our Egyptologist guide Abdul, spoke good English and also good archaeological background. He is knowledgeable and learned the history of people who lived in the areas of the tomb sites. In the Valley of the Kings, we indicated that we want to see SETTI which is an extra cost and King Tut. SETII IS WORTH THE EXTRA FEE. The hieroglyphs are vibrant and detained. Abdul chose the other 3 tombs for us which we all love, especially Ramses III. He explained what we will see inside using postcards (which we purchased later) so it was nice to hunt the hieroglyphics and know their meaning. He gave us enough time to explore each tombs on our own. We also had time for quick snack break as it got really hot inside the tombs. Don't expect to eat a full sit down meal during the tour especially if you decide to visit 5 tombs which can be time consuming. Overall, very happy with this tour, nice driver and excellent tour guide, Abdul.

Spectacular. The valley of the kings cannot be missed, with the tomb of Seti I being well worth what we paid. Hassan was a truly excellent guide - he answered all our questions and gave us plenty of flexibility to move at our own pace and add on other local sites into the afternoon. Would recommend.
