Itinerario
Visitiamo il grande Palazzo di Mysore e trascorriamo l'ora successiva in questa meraviglia costruita in stile indo-saraceno con una miscela di stili architettonici indù, musulmani, Rajput e gotico. Il Palazzo è una struttura in pietra a tre piani, con cupole di marmo e una torre a cinque piani alta 145 piedi. La visita guidata ti condurrà attraverso la sala pubblica, la sala privata, il padiglione delle bambole e la sala dei matrimoni reali.
Raggiungiamo la storica città di Sri Rangapatnam che fu la capitale di Tipu Sultan, la Tigre di Mysore, nel XVIII secolo. Ripercorreremo la sua vita dal giorno in cui combatté una tigre e la uccise con un pugnale, le sue coraggiose battaglie con gli inglesi, le sue riforme amministrative ed economiche e il suo uso pionieristico dei razzi in guerra. È considerato un pioniere nell'uso dei razzi per la guerra e gli inglesi in seguito improvvisarono sulla sua tecnologia durante la prima guerra mondiale. Visitiamo Dariya Daulat Bagh, il palazzo estivo di Tipu Sultan. È costruito in stile indo-sarcenico e presenta alcuni magnifici murales raffiguranti la guerra di Tipu con gli inglesi. La mostra più famosa qui è il famoso dipinto “Storming of Srirangapatna” di Sir Robert Ker Porter. Il tema del dipinto è la caduta finale di Srirangapatna il 4 maggio 1799 quando gli inglesi sconfissero le forze di Tipu.
Il Colonel Bailey Dungeon è il famoso dungeon in cui Tipu imprigionò diversi ufficiali britannici durante la guerra. Durante il tour verranno raccontate storie su questo famigerato luogo!
Visitiamo il primo museo di sculture di sabbia dell'India. Concepito e costruito da Gowri, uno dei principali scultori della sabbia, il museo della sabbia ha richiesto 4 mesi e 115 carichi di sabbia da costruzione. Ci sono 16 temi con 150 sculture in mostra.
Visitiamo la chiesa di Santa Filomena. Costruito nel 1840, in precedenza si chiamava St. Joseph Chavez, nome successivamente cambiato nel nome attuale. Inizialmente una piccola chiesa, acquisì la sua forma attuale nel 1933 durante il regno di Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV. Nel 1843, il re di Mysore Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar costruì la chiesa in modo da soddisfare le esigenze del popolo europeo che allora risiedeva a Mysore. Oggi è la seconda chiesa più grande dell'Asia.

What a fabulous experience. Shiva was very professional, hugely knowledgeable and very personable in the way he relayed information to me. Having someone like Shive present the Somnathapor temple to me made the experience all the richer because: 1. I could appreciate the age of the structure; 2. The ingenuity of the people who designed the structure; 3. The material from which the structure was created; 3. The creativity of those that decorated the structure ; 4. The educational material available on the temple outer walls. 5. The Hindu history carved on the walls also. A hugely beneficial experience going with such a terrific guide. I also appreciated the opportunity to ask many questions about Indian life from which I gained terrific insights from Shivas responses. Shive was also flexible with the itinerary to take me to a village and describe some of the ways of life, housing construction methods and infrastructure. Thanks very much Shive I've had a tour that I will remember for a longtime . All the best for your future.
Full day tour with Chethan as our guide. Very knowledgeable, went at our pace. Nothing was too much trouble. Made sure we were happy and seeng the things we were interested in . The driver was prompt and careful. Would not hesitate to recommend them.
The tour was fantastic! The historic temples were incredible to see and I learnt so much about each one. The carvings were stunning and very impressive. My guide, Manjunath, was wonderful and shared all of the important spots, as well as stopping for refreshments throughout the day. Traditional lunch was a highlight, very delicious! I also shared that I am very interested in how sugar is made and really appreciated how he also pointed out the sugar cane fields and took me to have a look at one. It was very special and custom. 🙏 A fantastic experience and we saw lots of beautiful places on the way!

I had the most amazing day with my guide Shiva today. He is so knowledgeable not just about Mysore but about the history of the Hindus in the region and the development of Mysore. Fantastic lunch and we also talked Uk, Indian and Geo Politics - I could not have asked for a better day out in Mysore!

We had a wonderful day with Shiva seeing the best sights of Mysore! The Tipu Sultan Summer Palace is really worth the visit - it is exquisite inside and so well preserved. Mysore Palace did not disappoint - it is truly stunning. Our South Indian lunch was delicious! And a great tour around the market which is so amazing to wonder around - the sights, the smells, the colors - all so incredible to take in. You will see so much on this tour! Shiva is super knowledgeable about all things Mysuru and we felt like we were getting the expert’s guide tour! A really great day that we both really enjoyed.

Our guide Shiva is knowledgeable and I would highly recommend getting him as your guide. However I was disappointed with 5sensestour actual iteanrry was different from emailed confirmation iteanrry. I think I did not get value for my money for a private tour
We saw the Somnathpur temple, Mysore palace, Devraj market, and Philomena church. Our tour guide Shiva was very knowledgeable and explained stories from the Ramayana, Gita, and Mahabharata with us while at the temple and of the history of the Mysore palace. We also had a great lunch while on the tour where we ate traditional South Indian food off a banana leaf. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Mysore.
