We had a great tour guide. The water at the gorge was chilly so we didn't go in, but took some great pictures, be prepared for the 240 stairs going down and back up. We didn't stay in the village very long before heading up to the mountains were we did a little hiking. We got to see where the 2002 lava flow ended along with some extinct volcano craters. The craters line up like buttons on a shirt. We hadn't eaten any lunch before we started hiking, so we only had enough energy to visited one crater. Make sure you are fuelled up before this part of the tour so you can see and experience more than we had the energe for. As a side excursion on the way down our guide took us to see some lava tubes, you can go down into the tubes if you have helmets which we did not, but it was still interesting to see and learn how they were used by the locals as refrigeration before electricity.
