Itinerario
Really good experience, tougher than I expected. It was a grind from top to bottom, ruthless incline that doesn’t stop till you hit the top. Took about 12hrs with plenty of breaking. We made good progress up and chilled for about 1.5hrs at Basecamp/Checkpoint 5 around a fire before making the last 1-1.5hr push to the top. Our Guide Boodie was a good dude and made the experience enjoyable, he even collected a large bag of plastic bottles on the way down that locals had left as it was a celebration holiday and a lot of young Balinese kids were camping and hike the same day we did, encouraging the kids to clean up after themselves along the way.
My partner and I travelled to the summit with our wonderful guide Juna. It was a challenging climb but the assistance of Juna allowed us to pace ourselves whilst maintaining a safe footing. Summiting in the dark made the sunrise even more spectacular on gazing over our ascent path. A truly wonderful experience and than you.
We booked direct to the 'Sunrise Trekking' website. A friendly driver with very good english picked us up and drove us to the Besakih Trailhead where local Mountain Guides also with good english took over. We got a free cup of tea, bottle of drinking water and a big bag of snacks. We then walked pretty much all nite to the top with the experienced guide knowing good places for breaks and how to pace ourselves to arrive for sunrise. We took the longer trek from Besakih to the very top for 360 views but be prepared for a very long and demanding trek. Can also see into the crater and much of the same view from the shorter Agung trailhead. If just wanting a Bali Volcano experience then the much shorter and easier Mount Batur Trek is an enjoyable option.
Super experience for the Trekking on Mount Agung! Kadek our driver was super punctual to broing us to the start of the trail. And our guide took the time on the way down to help us followers the best path.
We had the best experience with these guys!! We were a bit late to book the trekking to mount Agung but they reacted very clear and fast through whatsapp which made it possible for us to do the trekking the same day. We immediatly got all the information we needed and thats how we like it. Our driver Kadek picked us up and was realy friendly and open for a conversation. We met our guide Kaki and he was amazing!! In the beginning he put up a fast pace since we started a bit late but after an hour (when he knew we had plenty of time to make it before sunrise) he slowed down and explained we could take it easy. We made plenty of stops to rest and we reached the summit just before sunrise (Kaki paced it perfectly so you don't have to stand to long on the cold summit). He had a lot of knowledge about the area and was super funny. On the way down he helped where needed and if he noticed you were a bit less confident on certain sections, he stayed with you and explained how to do it as safe as possible. All in all we couldn't ask for a better day and realy enjoyed it!!
What an amazing tour run by amazing people. So friendly and l couldn’t speak highly enough about them. Highly recommend.
We went for Mt. Agung climbing and all the way all 5 stars. Booked in the morning for the same night and it worked. Both the driver (forgot the name :( ) and the guide (Rudy) were amazing. Rudy was so much fun and friendly and caring. He took some incredible photos of us at the summit. Definitely would recommended this agency and we might use their services in the future.
Punctual driver (his name is putu), gives good advice and explanations to prepare for the ascent of Mount Agung. Very respectful towards his client. 100% recommended driver! My guide's name was Leni! She's concerned about her client's comfort, ensures optimum safety both during the ascent and descent, and takes the time to take photos for you at the summit.
The views at the top of Mount Agung was wonderful, and it is really worth going up there. But I am very disappointed of my experience with our Bali Trekking Tour guide. The guide didn't really care about us, he was only interrested for being with the other guides. As we are in good shape and able to follow without complaining, he rushed to join his friends : we had to hurry up and we didn't even have time to stop for drinking or snack if we needed. While approaching the summit, they starting shouting to kidd with the guides who were lower, during one hour they didn't stop to repeat constantly the same joke, and personnaly, I find it disturbing in the mountain. I would have prefer to enjoy the peaceful nature... While going down, our guide and 2 friends of him joined up and were racing and taking videos of themselves running down. We and the other customers were left alone most of the time. It is not professionnal, and doesn't fit to the expensive price we paid for this tour !
I decided to climb Mount Agung just in time. We also negotiated that it was the day of the event and that only a few people could select it, and they responded. We can only thank the driver putu and Guide Wentang for their late night response and despite the sudden response on the day. Also, I was scared because of the description of Mafia etc. in the Google review of Mount Agung, but I was relieved to know that it was OK when I consulted the driver putu. The way they managed to understand my English, which I can communicate with in English, was great. On the way back, there were almost two hours, but he was just attentive, with pleasant conversations, stopping by when he needed a drink on the way, and worrying when he knew he was going to sleep. It was fun to talk about everything from Balinese culture to family stories. Mr Wentang, our Guide, was the same age but unlike me he had a lot of physical strength and always cared about me behind him. When I didn't know the way at night, I used his Directions to climb smoothly. I was afraid of heights, but I managed to climb through it. In addition, I was using the headlights I had brought with me, but because they were not bright enough, they noticed without saying they were scared, and they changed the headlights to brighter ones so I could climb further smoothly. Also, even though I got breakfast from the driver, he helped me by sharing cup noodles, bananas, etc. when I forgot. Everything was delicious, including the tea. Mount Agung, but it was a great view. It was great. We all got along well with another party. Recommendation for those with some climbing experience. My strength is pretty tight. There are also many places where you can climb rocks at night, so it is difficult for those who can't do that. However, your Guide or driver will help you with any concerns you may have, so please feel free to contact us.
