San Gimignano – The Medieval Manhattan Approaching San Gimignano, the view changes again: against the green Tuscan hills, the soaring towers that have made this town famous throughout the world rise towards the sky. An ancient symbol of power and prestige, the towers of San Gimignano are like stone fingers pointing skyward, telling the story of a thriving and ambitious city in the heart of the Middle Ages. The heart of the town is Piazza della Cisterna, paved in a herringbone pattern, surrounded by historic buildings and dominated by the Devil's Tower. A little further on, Piazza del Duomo, with the Collegiate Church and the Town Hall, boasts frescoes from the Sienese school and a spectacular view from the Torre Grossa, the tallest tower in the city.

I booked the private half-day tour to Chianti and San Gimignano, and it was one of the highlights of my vacation in Italy. The van was spotless and very comfortable. Shout out to our guide, Asil! San Gimignano is fascinating, our driver was very kind and when we arrived he gave us a lot of really useful information, we tasted a delicious ice cream and after visiting this beautiful city we went to the winery for the tasting and during the trip we took many photos. Sublime wine and the owner really kind and competent, thank you for this wonderful afternoon.
