Questa cascata molto notevole è una delle più alte della zona e spruzza acqua cristallina del ghiacciaio per 80 m nel suo bacino. Il bel e suggestivo sentiero che porta alla Cascata Materuni si trova a 2400m sul livello del mare. Attraversa valli e colline ricoperte dalla foresta pluviale tropicale, oltre a caffè, banane e avocado "shambas", la parola kiswahili per le fattorie. In una giornata limpida, si possono vedere splendide viste sulla città di Kibo e Moshi. L'escursione alla base della cascata può essere impegnativa a un certo punto e si consigliano scarpe da trekking soprattutto durante le stagioni umide. Poiché questo viaggio è così vicino alla città di Moshi, è l'ideale per quelle persone con un tempo limitato ma che vorrebbero comunque vedere un po 'della natura e della bellezza che questa regione della Tanzania ha da offrire.

Together with my daughter we did trips and tour to the waterfall with Alpha van Oserok, with lunch at a Chagga tribe and with a coffee ceremony. Alpha picked us up at our hotel and together we walked to the waterfall. Along the way he explained a lot about all the plants, trees and animals that could be seen there. He is a relaxed and extremely experienced guide and we had a great day.

The tour to Materuni with Alfa as our guide was a wonderful experience. We were able to plan everything in advance with him and he was especially flexible with our wishes. We would especially like to highlight that he knows all the important places very well and knew how to explain everything. This tour offered a wonderful chance to see and explore the forests at the base of Kilimanjaro, while also providing an opportunity to learn about the rich cultures of the area. We have booked this tour with OseroKtrips and had the pleasure to meet Alpha who was our guide for this tour. Alpha was so kind and friendly and went above and beyond to make our tour a memorable one. As we were on our honeymoon he even surprised us with a toast that he’s organised for us at the village. It was truly a memorable experience and the trip itself was incredible ! We tasted the delicious coffee made from the villagers own plantations and seeing the process was captivating for coffee lovers like me! We hiked all the way to the waterfalls on the Kilimanjaro slopes and had incredible views of nature. Alpha even took some lovely pictures of us and took great care of
