Arroccata su una spettacolare scogliera a picco sul mare, Pointe du Hoc fu uno dei luoghi più eroici dello sbarco del 6 giugno 1944. Fu qui che i Rangers americani scalarono le scogliere sotto il fuoco nemico per neutralizzare le postazioni di artiglieria tedesche. Oggi il sito, rimasto pressoché intatto, offre uno straordinario paesaggio di crateri e bunker, una toccante testimonianza dei feroci combattimenti. La vista sulla Manica e sulle scogliere circostanti lo rende un luogo allo stesso tempo toccante e grandioso.
Soprannominata "Bloody Omaha", questa vasta spiaggia di sabbia dorata fu teatro dei combattimenti più intensi dello sbarco in Normandia. Passeggiando lungo questa spiaggia tranquilla, è difficile immaginare il coraggio delle migliaia di soldati americani che sbarcarono lì sotto un fuoco pesante. Il ponte Pegasus fu il primo ponte ad essere liberato il 6 giugno 1944 e segnò l'inizio della liberazione della Francia. I paracadutisti britannici della 6ª Divisione aviotrasportata effettuarono qui un assalto notturno con incredibile precisione. Il ponte fedelmente restaurato e il museo annesso raccontano la storia di questa eroica missione. Circondato dal canale e dal famoso “Café Gondrée”, la prima casa liberata in Francia, il luogo vibra ancora dello spirito di coraggio e di fratellanza alleata.

The customer service was excellent. Somehow we were able to make a last minute booking online even tho there was no availability. We were immediately contacted and despite the late hour they were able to accommodate us and found a driver. The driver was excellent and we are so thankful for the experience.

Excellent tour! Sebastian was very easy to coordinate with, was extremely accommodating, and very knowledgeable. It was a perfect day. He knew the best spots to see the sights and even showed us a few gems that I didn't expect. He even helped me make a little video in English and French for my nieces and nephews which they loved. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

The first full day he took us on an all-day D-Day tour of Normandy that was truly memorable. Our second day was devoted to the breathtaking Mont Saint-Michel. It was a perfect day, and we loved walking around the island and visiting the abbey. This was an incredible tour - to go back in time to learn about and visit the site of Normandy. Sebastian was fantastic. He accommodated us at the last minute when our original plans fell apart. He provided us with an exceptional ride and visit to Normandy. His depth of knowledge was incredible - a living encyclopedia of the history of Normandy. A fantastic day, with a wise historian! Our day with Sebastian was incredible. First of all, he was SOOOOOO accommodating. We met him in Caen and he took us to all the D Day sites that we (not he) wanted. He had suggestions but followed our requests. We got to decide how long we were at each site. At the end, he calculated that we had enough extra time to do a final stop before he dropped us off. His tour was full of historical knowledge. He took us to a great little restaurant because we wanted to eat quickly and see more sites. His van was exceptionally clean and comfortable. I cannot recommend this tour, and Sebastian highly enough!
Sebastian was fantastic. We had a wonderful day with him on our D-Day tour in Normandy. He is very knowledgeable, speaks excellent English, and has a genuine passion for the history, which made everything much more meaningful. What I appreciated most was that he took us to some incredible spots that many of the larger tours seemed to miss, so we were able to experience places without the crowds. It made the day feel much more personal and special. Walking those beaches and sites with someone who could explain the history so well was truly humbling and something I will never forget. I highly recommend Sebastian if you want a thoughtful, informative, and memorable Normandy experience.
I am so glad I found this tour. Sebastian was amazing. He suggested we arrive the night before the tour and stay in the most fantastic fairytale like Little town. He even suggested accommodations for that night. We were picked up at the airport and driven directly to our hotel three hours away near Normandy. We were then picked up the next morning and taken to the Tour. Sebastian was very knowledgeable about every part of this D-Day experience. His knowledge was fascinating. We saw Omaha beach, the American cemetery Pointe du Hoc, we saw old bunkers up close and explored so much more! If you ar considering s trip to Normandy this is absolutely the tour you should book!!!
