Ian provided us with an outstanding tour! He followed the itinerary we proposed, but enhanced it with suggestions of places to stop to get ideal photos and see some additional highlights we would have missed on our own. He was punctual for our pick-up, provided a lot of interesting history and information about the area and places we visited, and offered great suggestions of other things to see, restaurants to try, and places to shop for the items we were seeking. He was friendly and flexible and we appreciated his willingness to adjust the journey throughout the day to best meet our interests.

We spent the day with Ian touring Cape Town. Hit the highlights with the penguins, Cape of Good Hope, etc. Our weather wasn’t perfect so we made a detour to the Deep South Distillery for a gin and rum tasting - which ended up being one of the best mixology lessons we have had! It was a great suggestion by Ian. He was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable . A great day overall!

We booked the Cape tour initially with Ian and had so much fun we booked the wine tour as well. The sights were breathtaking and definitely worth the trip. Having a private tour allowed us to stop for pictures and tailor the tour to our interests. Ian was courteous and fun. Being from Cape Town he had a lot of knowledge of the area and made great recommendations. Definitely would recommend a tour with Ian. Thanks Ian!

Everything about the day was amazing. Ian was a great guide. We did the cape peninsula tour. He was very knowledgeable about the history and details of all the places we passed by and stopped. Very attentive, kind, funny and was glad to stop if needed, take pictures for us… etc. The car was clean, plenty of space. Highly recommend.

Ian welcomed our itinerary requests and expertly adjusted them to fit the weather conditions for our daylong tour around the Cape in his very comfortable van. We were 2 couples and all enjoyed the day!

I was looking for a truly private tour for our group of 5 adults and I’m so glad we found Ian. We had the most incredible full-day Cape Peninsula tour with Ian from African Moon Adventures. From start to finish, the experience was thoughtful, beautifully planned, and filled with unforgettable moments. Ian picked us up promptly in a spotless, comfortable new minivan and immediately made us feel welcomed and relaxed. He guided us through stunning viewpoints along Chapman’s Peak Drive, Cape of Good Hope, Hout Bay, and Boulders Beach — always sharing a true local’s perspective and fun insights that made every stop more meaningful. We enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch in Scarborough at Whole Earth Cafe and ended the day with a lovely wine tasting in Constantia at Buitenverwachting (with Hailey and Chantelle), all perfectly timed and curated. Ian was wonderful company throughout the entire day: friendly, knowledgeable, easygoing, and attentive to every detail. His timing and planned tour expertly avoided crowded tour groups. We felt like we truly had a crowd free experience. It truly felt like exploring with a friend who knows all the best spots and was kind enough to help us capture some great photos throughout the day. We couldn’t recommend African Moon Adventures more highly — this tour was a highlight of our trip!

Having Ian as our guide for the day was great. He picked us up at the port and spend the day showing us around Cape Town and the highlights. He took us to a great little restaurant for lunch and I had the best Calamari in the world. Ian was willing to take us to the airport for our flight. If we ever go back to Cape Town I will will arrange several days with Ian as our private guide.

Ian was a very well informed guide having grown up in the area. Covered penguins, cape of good hope reserve including lighthouse, a wonderful lunch a trip back thru Chapman peak and through it all we learned many historical facts.

Day one after our arrival in Cape Town , South Africa we met up with Ian from African Moon Tours and our adventure the day began! From start to finished Ian got us to all the top sites in Cape Town, we were thrilled with his knowledge of Cape Town as he grew up here, no huge tour group company with a built in dialog!
