We are so happy we did this hike! Even though it was off season they arranged for us to hike with the excellent and kind guide, Arti. Besides the absolute stunning scenery we got to meet the locals which really touched our hearts. That Arti happily answered all our questions and telled us legends of the mountains were a big plus. We recommend!
The drive up and down involves bouncing around in a 4x4 and winding up loose gravel tracks and watching the landscape change as you get higher. The hike is through pine forest and beautiful landscapes, with Mount Tomor looming above impressively. The castle is definitely a ruin, with no standing walls remaining, but the location is very scenic. The lunch is delicious as well, with several Albanian specialties. The guides are happy to answer any questions and have everything well organised.
Hi Ziggy! Thank you for your kind review! The trip in holly mout of Tomor is magical, and we’re glad you enjoyed it. We invite you back for cycling, kayaking, or glamping for an extended adventure. Best wsihes1 Albania Rafting
It was a well organised enjoyable trip All the team from the driver , the guy with the miles and the fantastic Arbri couldn’t do enough to make our trip exciting and fun The off Road drive to the mountain was something else and the hike was great with spectacular views
When booking this activity you had to give your weight. Makes sense if you think you're going to ride a donkey. Also the ad advertises with pictures of people on donkeys but nothing could be further from the truth. The activity consisted of first being taken to the location with a 4x4. Then you make a hike up. There is a donkey walking with a local but he carries your lunch. Then you arrive at a picnic spot the local stays there to prepare dinner and the group makes another short hike to a higher point. Afterwards it turned out that there was a castle or ruins of but we did not see these. The route of the hike is beautiful and it has nice view spots. Lunch was above expectations with Albanian dishes. After lunch we followed the same route back to the 4x4 cars. All in all, you lost a day. As you hear in my story you are not going to ride a donkey so if you think you will come for that I would recommend you book another tour.
Hello! Thank you very much for the impression because it helped us a lot to understand that the description of the activity is not very clear. This is one of the most beautiful trips that our team offers. It includes 1.5 h of very interesting off road with fantastic views of the mountains and villages full of trees. Durimi, a resident of the village, comes with 2-3 mules, one of which is loaded to carry our fantastic lunch and 2 others to have for all those who want to do short tours. This trip is focused on hiking. About 2 hours of climbing to the ruins of the Tomorrit castle (Pellazian ruins) and 3 hours of descent to the village of Kafe Dardhe. Then we return again by 4x4 about 1.2 hours to Berat around 17.00 The terrain in the middle of the forest is not suitable for riding as it is broken and is not recommended for safety reasons. We are reviewing the tour description once again because it is perhaps not very clear. Its main points are: 5 hours of fantastic hiking, 3 hours off road in spectacular views, and an amazing picnic lunch. On the trip will also be Durimi, a resident of the village, with his two mules. With respect! The Albania Rafting Group team.
The trip with the mules was beautiful, beautiful nature. And he was dedicated to us as a guide the whole way. It was an amazing experience. I recommend it for both children and adults.
What a great trip this was! First by jeep, on roads you never go to, up the mountain. That was quite an experience. When we couldn't go any further, Niklos was waiting for us with 2 mules. The trip continued on foot and our lunch went on one of the mules. On the other mule our sons took turns to sit a tojd. It was a really beautiful hike to the top of the mountain. Our guide Alma knew how to tell fun legends and facts about the mountains. Before we went back there was a delicious extensive Albanian lunch prepared which we ate in a beautiful place overlooking Mount Tomor. We really recommend this hike. Alma is a fun, enthusiastic guide and the combination of off-road jeep, hike and lunch is superb.
Groetjes,
It was an amazing experiece, Alma was the best guide! It was our first hiking, so it was more than we expected. We had a great time, nice lunch and beautiful views.

A breathtaking landscape, a 'tour organization nothing short of excellent, from the jeep route to the exquisite picnic that is consumed in front of the exhilarating peaks of Tomori, and the very original company of three mules that you can also mount. An experience to be had absolutely!
Super 4x4 offroad tripto the start of the hike with the mules. The Girls loved riding the mule. We learned a lot aboutj the Timori Mountain and as extra we had a super picknick lunch. On the way back with the 4x4 again, what a fun. Thank you Alma
A magnificent hike, splendid setting, the children enjoyed being on muleback. Friendly accompaniment by Elma and Era. To do and do again without hesitation!
