Porto Tapas e Vinho Verde Tour

On 14/09 I did the Porto Walking tours Tapas and Vinho Verde tour. We started at 11:30 at the Market with the lovely Lara. She started with a very informative history of Portugal and its regions including that of the market where we met. This was followed by a tour of the market incorporating lots of quality local food and wines and introductions to the vendors. The tour finished after a walk around local streets and more food in a super bistro/cafe and a visit to a Tavern where you will be delighted with the cooking of the chorizo! 😂 Lara had the help of the equally lovely Ines at some of the stops with the organisation of food and tables. We decided that she was triplets as was always there when we arrived! 😂 We were travelling as a foursome and were joined by 3 more and found that a group of 7 was a very good number and everyone was very good company. The tour lasted 4 hours and at the end we were completely stuffed. Make sure you don’t eat before you start! I would highly recommend this company and if you are lucky enough to have Lara as your guide you will not be sorry. Thank you Lara for a lovely day x

Lara and Ines could not have been more kind, informative and organized. I learned so much about the food and wine and history of both. Plus, we ate and drank for 4 hours!!! The Market is amazing but Late and Ines really made it come to life. It’s a must do!

João was a marvelous guide and provided us with many tastes and drinks in f Porto. The Mercado is one of the most unique we have experienced and the other stops were equally fun with wonderful food and drink.

We went on the food tour with João on the 16th September and we can not rate this highly enough! He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and it was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon in Porto. Plenty of food and drinks so go hungry!!

I loved how we stopped by vendors that are local and have a rich history , of family traditions . We ate so much it filled me up . Great historical information along with fun ! If you’re in Porto, this is a must-do experience! The tapas and wine tour with Porto Walkers was fantastic. We got to enjoy plenty of delicious tapas paired with excellent local wines, and everything was thoughtfully selected. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights into Porto’s history, culture, and food scene throughout the tour. It was the perfect combination of great food, fantastic wine, and a fun, informative experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Porto! If you want it to sound even more authentic, you could add a personal touch like, “I only wish I’d done it earlier in my visit!” or “I’d happily do it again.

This was the best guided tour from Joao! He gave us a very detailed history of the city!

Lara is super knowledgeable about Portugal's history and culture in relation to the food and gastronomy of the region. Ines was amazing at coordinating and having everything set up at every step of the tour. Truly a superpower team creating a smooth, informative, delicious experience!
