Pompeii and Sorrento Private Day Tour from Rome

Descrizione
In 62 A.D. a violent earthquake struck the Vesuvius area. Seventeen years later, on August 24, 79 A.D., the sudden eruption of Vesuvius buried Pompeii with ashes and lapillus. The buried city was rediscovered in the 16th Century, but it was only in 1748 that the exploration phase began, under the King of Naples Charles III of Bourbon. Our guide will bring this ancient resort town to life. We will continue the tour in a more relaxing manner visiting Sorrento. Perched picturesquely on a plateau above the sea with spectacular views over the Bay of Naples, Sorrento is one of the most popular tourist Italian destinations. The key attraction of Sorrento is that it can offer a variety of holiday experiences to suit different visitors, from rural walks through lemon and olive groves to a choice of excursions by land or sea.

Itinerario
The spectral ruins of ancient Pompeii lead to one of the world's most engrossing archaeological experiences. Much of the site's value lies in the fact that the town wasn't simply blown away by Vesuvius in AD 79 but buried under a layer of lapilli (burning fragments of pumice stone). The result is a remarkably well-preserved slice of ancient life, where visitors can walk down Roman streets and pry around millennial old houses, temples, shops, cafes and amphitheatres. With a private and historian guide, you will be able to visit what is considered to be Europe’s most important archaeological site.
After the tour in Pompeii, your private driver and tour escort will take you to Sorrento, a charming town, known for its high quality hand crafted products: the inlay wood work, cameos and of course the famous lemon liquor Limoncello!

Luigi is the best driver we have ever experienced during excursions, Rosanna is so organized and knowledgeable about scheduling private tours. Our guide, Romolo was fantastic, providing us the most perfect educational tour of Pompeii! All three made our day exceed expectations!!!
Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We will share this with our team to let them know to keep up the amazing work.
Rossana and Luigi took the utmost care of our family of five from our pickup in Rome, down to an awesome morning in Pompei and then a beautiful lunch and shopping and walking excursion in Sorrento. Luigi was a fantastic driver. Rossana was a wealth of knowledge and was very informative. Definitely worth spending a full day with the both of them.
We would not be able to grow and develop without feedback like yours. We are thrilled you had a great experience with us and hope to see you again soon.
Enjoyed the attention we were given. Private tour as promised. Mariella was our local guide. She provided great insight into all that we saw and experienced at the Colesseum, Palatine Hill, the forum, and Constantine’s Arch.
Thank you!
