Il tempio buddista di Jogyesa è il centro del buddismo zen in Corea ed è famoso per essere situato in città. Dalle strade trafficate di Jongno, segui la strada verso la stazione della metropolitana di Anguk e vedrai il Tempio di Jogyesa. Le prime cose che noterai al tempio sono gli alberi adorabili. Questi locuste e gli alberi baeksong di fronte al Daeungjeon, l'edificio principale del tempio, hanno circa 500 anni.

Dopo aver visitato il Tempio di Jogyesa, ti sposterai nel luogo successivo chiamato Gwanghwamun per assistere alla Cerimonia del Cambio della Guardia Reale. È stato registrato come Patrimonio culturale mondiale dall'UNESCO nel 1997 per il suo splendido aspetto di quel periodo. Soongryemun (Namdaemun) è una porta principale dell'ex fortezza di Seoul nella dinastia Joseon. Viene comunemente chiamato Namdaemun. Il cancello fu costruito nel 1396, nel regno del re Taejo. Ed è stato ricostruito nel 1447 dal re Sejong e nel 1479 dal re Seongjong. Nel 2006 la città di Seoul ha aperto al pubblico il passaggio al cancello. Il cancello è ora elencato come tesoro nazionale n. 1 della Corea. Ma il 10 febbraio 2008, il cancello è stato bruciato dall'incendiario e il cancello di legno è stato bruciato dall'incidente. L'amministrazione del patrimonio culturale ha annunciato di ricostruire il cancello in modo simile al suo aspetto originale. La ricostruzione è stata effettuata all'inizio del 2013.

Our favorite part was when Soo told us stories about the royal family at the different palaces. And when she told us about Korean culture at the Folk Museum.

Had so much fun on the day tour visiting 3 palaces, ginseng museum and more. Sookhee was an awesome guide! Her incredible knowledge of Korean history, funny anecdotes made it especially memorable!
