Meta preferita di Petrópolis quando arriva l'inverno, Petrópolis combina il fascino degli edifici del periodo imperiale con il freddo delle montagne e la qualità delle infrastrutture. La città di Petrópolis, conosciuta anche come la "Città Imperiale" perché era il rifugio della famiglia imperiale portoghese durante l'estate, è una città storica che possiede un bellissimo complesso architettonico con edifici come la Cattedrale di Petrópolis, il Museo Imperiale, dove era la residenza della famiglia imperiale e il Palazzo Quitandinha, che era il più grande hotel casinò in America Latina nel 1940. avrete anche la possibilità di visitare la casa di Santos Dumont, che è stato un pioniere dell'aviazione. Dopo aver visitato i punti più importanti di Petrópolis, ci fermeremo a Rua Teresa per lo shopping.

Conosciuto anche come Palazzo Imperiale, è un museo storico - tematico situato nel centro storico della città di Petrópolis. La sua collezione è suddivisa nei seguenti spazi: sala da pranzo, sala da musica, sala statale, ufficio Dom Pedro II, sala delle principesse e sala delle visite dell'imperatrice.
Dedicata al santo patrono del Brasile, la cattedrale di Petrópolis è una delle più importanti costruzioni neogotiche del paese. Progettata alla fine del XIX secolo, questa chiesa si distingue per la bellezza della sua facciata e le sue innumerevoli vetrate colorate.
Conosciuta anche come “A Encantada”, la casa estiva del padre dell'aviazione ha alcune peculiarità, come una delle sue ultime invenzioni, che è la doccia con acqua calda e anche la scala esterna dove si può iniziare a salire solo con la gamba destra. L'ingresso è facoltativo.
Inaugurato nel 1884, il Palácio de Cristal fu un dono di Conde d'Eu alla principessa Isabel per essere utilizzato come serra in modo che potesse coltivare i suoi ortaggi. Al giorno d'oggi, il Palazzo ospita diverse fiere regionali e, intorno ad esso, si trova il famoso Bauernfest, che si svolge negli ultimi fine settimana di giugno.

Lots of time for shopping in my opinion including being dropped at the mall for 45 minutes. The same amount of time allocated for the Imperial Museum. There was also a chocolate store and a chocolate cafe. Would have much preferred it to have been focused on historic parts.

The stop at the traditional Rua Teresa is also part of the planned route, offering a different aspect of the city, but it takes place toward the end of the tour. I was lucky enough to meet a great guide, Aldo. I was the only French out of a group of 20 people, and he made the effort to translate everything into French, I really enjoyed it. The tour itself was very interesting, I advise
2h in Rio in bus p/ pick up passengers. Running on a visit to the Imperial Museum. Catedral fechada. Very bad!!!
The friendly and knowledgeable guide (sorry I forget his name) took us from Copacabana to the Imperial Palace museum, the cathedral, the "crystal palace", the house of aviator Santos-Dumont and various places for refreshments. It was very interesting. It could be slightly improved by making it a shorter trip with fewer refreshments.
Petropolis is a beautiful historic city, with the Imperial Museum that demonstrates how Brazil's royal family discovered the city and how Petropolis was the first city that abolished slavery in the country. The "Praca de Don Pedro" is also a beautiful plaza with many shops. The center of Petropolis also have "Rua Teresa" which is a popular street for shopping needs. The city also has a newly constructed mall with 3 stories and an incredible variety of stores.
A beautiful mountain town that is definitely worth a visit. Our guide also tried to send us all the information in English. We already knew a lot about the story. That helped. The bus was not that big (about 18) and air conditioned. Good value for money.
The trip was great. City Rio was punctual with the start time of the tour, complying with all scheduled schedule. Highlight to the Guide Marco (Chilean), who led the class with harmony. Being super friendly, with nice information during the tour and always helpful.
