Il Dryandra Woodlands è un hotspot di biodiversità che contiene più di 850 specie di piante, più di 100 specie di uccelli e 24 mammiferi, tra cui il numbat e il bilby in via di estinzione. I boschi offrono rifugio ad alcuni dei nostri animali australiani unici, tra cui echidne, wallabies dalla coda a spazzola, woyly, quenda e chuditch. All'arrivo nei boschi, avrete tempo per una breve passeggiata nel bush, alla ricerca di animali autoctoni e splendidi fiori selvatici di stagione prima di sedervi per una cena al picnic nella foresta. La tua Guida cucinerà del cibo sul barbecue, ci saranno insalate fresche, formaggi e biscotti, vino e bevande calde disponibili. Dopo cena, goditi un viaggio panoramico attraverso la foresta mentre la luce del sole filtra attraverso i rami degli alberi, proiettando lunghe ombre e una luce tremolante che crea un effetto magico sul pavimento della foresta. Tieni d'occhio i numerosi canguri della zona mentre schivano e si fanno strada tra gli alberi.
Barna Mia è un santuario faunistico unico per alcuni dei nostri mammiferi in via di estinzione. Le guide forniranno un breve talk e un video che spiegherà il lavoro di conservazione svolto a Barna Mia. Poi ci si dirige al santuario per una passeggiata notturna guidata dove ci sediamo e aspettiamo che appaiano le creature notturne di Barna Mia. In poco tempo, sarete intrattenuti dagli animali di Barna Mia mentre emergono dall'oscurità nella loro ricerca di cibo.
Per completare il tour, facciamo una sosta appena fuori dal bosco per fare un po’ di osservazione delle stelle. La Guida vi indicherà alcuni degli oggetti visibili nel cielo notturno e avrete il tempo di scattare qualche foto del cielo notturno. La regione di Dryandra ha alcuni dei cieli più scuri dell'Australia, perfetti per vedere la via lattea e le stelle cadenti.

Unique experience to see conservation in action at Barna Mia. A bit of a ride to get there but well worth it. Our guide was informative and engaging. The spot for dinner provided an opportunity to observe a field of kangaroos and various birdlife. Overall I'd recommend this tour 100%.

Had an amazing afternoon and night with Skip as our guide. We were incredibly lucky with siting of two Bilby’s and even saw a shooting star! Lots of great conversation and dinner was beautiful- plenty to go around. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a more wildlife-based experience, this is a great opportunities.

What an awesome tour! We had a total of five guests on our tour and our tour guide was friendly, down to earth, knowledgable, and provided great service. BBQ dinner in the bush was good. The stops along the way to Barna Mia felt well picked out to get a feel for the WA bush. Barna Mia was fantastic - so many small Australian mammals to see and watch, and do yourself a favour - buy a gift at the gift shop, because the money supports a great cause. If you are looking for something a bit different and love Australian wildlife, this tour is a must-do!

Thankyou for your feedback Hilary. Timing is always a delicate balance to manage on this tour due to the distance we travel to get to the woodlands & we don't want to make the tour too long. We spend about 30 minutes driving through the woodlands looking for animals & when we see them such as echidnas or numbats we stop so you can get out & see them. Customers then have around 30 minutes to see the kangaroos & look for echidnas and numbats at the spot where we have dinner. We tend not to talk too much about the woodlands on tour as this is covered by the presentation run by Parks & Wildlife when we get to the wildlife sanctuary. We appreciate though that some customers would like more time for bushwalking. Kind regards Skip
This tour went beyond my expectations! Our guide Skip was super friendly, knowledgable and kept us entertained during the drive to Dryandra (meaning the 2h passed by in no time). Before stopping for the view point, we were lucky enough to spot Echidna's and Wallabies on the way there! At our dinner spot, there were plenty of kangaroos minding their business. In the forest we got to see some more Echidna's, that we had to search for first. However, that was definitely part of the fun! The dinner was delicious too:)) (chicken skewers with wraps, dips and veggies). The Nature Park (main destination), offered a great opportunity to see many kinds of nocturnal animals such as: Bilbies, Boodies, Malas and Potoroos! Catching a glimpse of these animals is guaranteed here, since they’re being attracted with food. Nonetheless, it’s just as thrilling to spot them in the dark by using the infrared torches :) I definitely recommend this tour for people who prefer a more personal experience, love and can respect nature and its wildlife.

A nocturnal wildlife tour to the Dryandra woodlands that should never be missed! An unforgettable experience , being a local but feeling like a tourist with Skip the amazing tour guide.Never a dull moment with him on board with a private but small tour group . He was very knowledgeable , had good humour & kept us informed all along from the beginning to the end . The star gazing experience was magnificent! We were thoroughly spoilt with drinks & BBQ dinner at twilight time Despite being an extremely hot day everyone had a fantastic time & went home feeling a day well well accomplished! Thank you Skip.

I booked this tour with my friends as a new and different experience and to feel a bit like tourists in our own state. We had a great day and had a lot of fun with the tour guides. The highlights were seeing all the animals including a record of 7 echidnas on the way down and of course the animals at Barna Mia. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone local to WA or visiting as a great way to see more of our state and a great chance to see our amazing wildlife. This was my first time going down to the Dryandra woodland and I will definitely be back.

Excellent experience with Quokkas Adventures Tours. The team is really professional and managed to accommodate a last minute tour request from our side.
