Il tour permette ai visitatori di comprendere l’evoluzione dell’ingegneria militare in Italia dal XIII al XVII secolo. Visitare gli interni dei baluardi è come entrare nelle “viscere” delle Mura di Lucca, mai usate, in realtà, per scopi difensivi. Le immense volte a mattoni delle gallerie, costruite con lo scopo principale di nascondere i pesanti cannoni di bronzo, sono spettacolari e mozzafiato.

Itinerario
Le Mura di Lucca rappresentano una realtà unica nel panorama dell’architettura e dell’urbanistica europea. Realizzate in epoca rinascimentale sono, oggi, uno dei maggiori esempi di fortificazione italiana dell’epoca. L’itinerario proposto prevede un percorso che si sviluppa in parte sopra le Mura e in parte sotto, alla scoperta degli interni di alcuni baluardi restaurati. Il restauro ha restituito alla cittadinanza uno dei monumenti a lei più cari ed ha permesso il passaggio dall’interno all’esterno della città in modo più agevole e suggestivo.

Excellent tour to learn about the history of the medieval walls of Lucca and how they evolved from centuries ago. Participants will discover what is underneath the great walking paths of Lucca and experience walking in the tunnels below.
This was an excellent and fun tour of Le Mura of Lucca. Paola was friendly and very knowledgeable. Impressive guide!
We visit this lovely old town after volunteering the Parkrun. We walked around this old medival town & visiting some old churches. Lucca is surrounded by old city walls with plenty of shops & cafe. Worth a visit for a day
The guide Gabriele was exceptional, the visit was interesting and well developed, it lasted even a little longer, 10+
Paola was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her city and explained how the history of Lucca is the history of its walls, first built in Roman times, reinforced and expanded in the Middle Ages, and rebuilt in the Renaissance in their present form. Now, when I look at the walls, I feel a special affinity for Lucca.
Very interesting experience with the guide Nadia talented and very prepared that has satisfied many of our curiosity.
The Lucca Wall is a very interesting subject, but a bit dull hiking, where the guide for a large part read the boards that were set on the walls inside the wall. The tour also got a bad start as the guide was late, so more participants had left when she arrived.
Wonderful tour with a very experienced guide who explained the historical significance of the walls to Lucca. Highly recommend.

Good afternoon, We suppose you weren’t at the right meeting point because you wrote “you were left in the cold under the rain “. Our meeting point is inside the Information Center. The tour took place with 2 persons . We are sorry that you didn’t see the colleague Paola who was scheduled on the tour. She left the Tourist information at 10:15 with the 2 clients and nobody else was there waiting for the tour and nobody called us from the Tourist information to inform us that somebody was waiting there for the tour. We didn’t receive your e-mail . Obviously you can ask for the refund. We are sorry for this inconvenient and hope to welcome you back in Lucca.
