Fantastic experience. First of all, the owner was so gracious with us. This harried mom actually booked the tour for the wrong month but we were accommodated the evening we showed up, whew. Our guide David was awesome: we saw many snakes, frogs, and a sloth. He is so passionate about wildlife and and clearly enjoys sharing his knowledge. My 11 year old was blown away!

Our family had an amazing Night Tour with Papa's Place. It has been a highlight of our trip to La Fortuna. The tour itself was very well structured, and it was incredible to see how the family had prepared and maintained the ecology to maximize the experience. Our guide, Gabi, was incredible. We enjoyed it! Our guide, Emilio, was knowledgeable, energetic and friendly. It’s a busy place but well-organized and we saw a sloth, snakes, frogs, toads and some cool insects.

Super organized tour & an engaging staff! Our tour guide was Brandon and he was fabulous! We saw many reptiles including species of frogs and snakes including the venomous fer de lance viper and the pit viper.

This was our family’s favorite activity in la fortuna. We loved our guide, Angelica. She ensured we had a great time, came away with great pictures, and helped my two young children feel safe in the dark. We saw so many frogs and even saw a sloth and snake. Thanks for the great tour!

My 13 & 18 year old boys, husband and I just got home from our first (but not last!) trip to Costa Rica. Before we left, I scheduled the early morning Sloth Tour with Papa’s Place. Indira was our guide and she was terrific! Knowledgeable, personable and you can feel her passion for what she does. We learned a lot and really enjoyed ourselves. We saw 3 species of toucans, 2 species of sloths (including this cute guy), one of the Jesus Christ lizards, and more. We loved the first tour so much, we decided last minute to also book a night tour with Papa’s Place. David was our guide and we saw so many cool frogs, bugs and much more. I was glad we did both tours, since we saw different wildlife during each one. I highly recommend both of these activities if you’re staying in/around La Fortuna.

I had the pleasure of being guided by Andres and Biron. Very knowledgeable guides who love what they do and make searching for wildlife exciting and Interesting. I learned a lot and got to see many different species along the way. They will have a telescope to see up close and personal with the wildlife and the pictures are amazing! Two great men who will make you feel right at home while they teach about beautiful Costa Rica. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the beauty in the forest around you durning your visit! Thanks guys!

My family and I booked the night tour with David who was an excellent tour guide! He was extremely committed to doing his job and very educated on all things. You can tell that David really loves his job! He went out of his way many times for us to have a wonderful experience. Additionally he was kind and funny and made the trip an amazing success! He took wonderful photos for us and got really close to the creature so we could get the best pictures. Would 1000% books with David again!

The night tour tour at Papa's Place was absolutely amazing from start to finish! Even though we were running a few minutes late, the staff welcomed us with incredible warmth and hospitality. Before the tour even officially began, our group had already spotted a wild sloth near the entrance, which set an auspicious tone for the entire evening. Here is why you should absolutely book this experience: Intimate Group Size: Even though it was a public tour, our group was perfectly sized with just four people. This allowed for a highly personalized, unhurried experience. Expert Guiding: Our guide (I believe her name was Indy) was exceptionally friendly and deeply knowledgeable about the local ecosystem. She was also so helpful & encouraging teaching us to spot animals on our own, which we got pretty great at by then end! Incredible Wildlife Sightings: Thanks to our guide's depth of experience we saw sloths, lizards, snakes, and an amazing variety of colorful frogs and tadpoles swimming around (the absolute highlight for me!) Professional Scope Photos: Our guide used our phones to take high-quality photos through her professional scope and made sure we didn't miss any photos (and videos) we wanted to capture. This allowed us to get stunning, crisp keepsake photos without any of the stress, so we could just stay present and immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of the rainforest at night. Supporting this lovely, family-owned business made our vacation so much more special.
