Andres is a very experienced naturalist and a very accommodating guide. You may be paying for three hours, but if he knows you are passionate and he has the time, I’m certain you’ll find you get much more. He wasn’t rushing us or concerned about the itinerary, he was just genuinely enthusiastic about sharing his expansive and impressive knowledge of the natural world.

Andrés picked us up in the morning for a tour at the hotel. In a place with a magnificent view / Monteverde to the Pacific Ocean, he explained to us in perfect German the diversity of forests, the great influence of the Humboldtian continental and climate divide and its importance for flora and fauna. Then we decided to take him on a tour over the suspension bridges. Here we got to know the different floors of the jungle and its inhabitants. Time flew with Andi. He gave us a very vivid share of his great detailed natural history knowledge and also answered every question about nature conservation and climate change. We had a wonderful day with him. The Night Walk with Andrés is more than “just” recommended and worth every penny. We had a lot of fun and were able to gather an incredible amount of knowledge about the exotic plants and wildlife. Without our guide, we probably couldn’t have digitally captured more than leafcutter ants; let alone we wouldn’t have come to the park in the first place. But thanks to our scout bear Andrés we were able to discover an impressive number of animals and can highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Amazing experience with Andy (Andrés Alvarado) he was extremely knowledgeable and was pointing out things we never would have seen. We were able to check off the Quetzal and sloth on our trip with him along with many other birds, trees, fauna etc. highly recommended

We were connected with Andrés through our tour organizer alautentico - what a treat at the end of our stay in Monteverde and Costa Rica! As we are nature lovers and biologist ourselves, we connected well with Andrés who as a native of CR speaks fluent German and English. He will not only point out to you the smallest orchids, impressive spiders, various birds but also is knowledgable about the biology and ecology of his home. With him you will learn to appreciate not just the typical creatures on your CR tour "checklist" but all the immense diversity that makes the Monteverde ecosystem so unique! Too bad that we didn't have more time to enjoy!

Andres was so deeply knowledgable and passionate about the plants, animals, and geological history. I can't imagine doing this hike without him, just walking right past all the magic that he helped us see. He knows the special spots where you are more likely to spot animals. His bird identification and tracking is amazing.

A must too see it. Guided tour in German. Many years of in-depth expertise. Simply explained by joke. It was exciting and very interesting.
