Excellent experience from beginning to end. Our tour guide, Philip, was a local man with a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm about his country. The trip up and down the hill was fun and the sights and sounds at the top of the hill and walking through the Habitats were breathtaking. This is a must do.
The sunset experience with night walk is fabulous! We were collected on time (the driver asked to collect us half an hour early) from our hotel. We didn’t know the driver would still have to buy the cable car tickets and accompany us up the hill to then but the entrance tickets. Not a problem but we could have had them sent electronically and then chosen our own carriage in the funicular railway. At the top he bought tickets and then the lady explained we would need to leave by 7. I pointed out that I had paid for the sunset/nightwalk experience so I wouldn’t be leaving by 7. There is NO SIGNAL so make sure you have screenshots of everything. The driver then left and our wonderful experience started. Firstly- it’s so calm, no hoardes queuing. We walked gently in the late afternoon sun around the jungle absorbing the sounds and views. We went up the top walkway for sunset, don’t leave too early as the best colours are just after the sun sets. As it grew dark the three of us (just our family) had an incredible torchlit walk through the rainforest at night. We say scorpions, snakes, an owl, toads, frogs, incredible moths and all the sounds. With four lovely knowledgable guides looking out for things to see all the time. We got back to the meeting point about 8:45. Then I saw that I had missed calls and the driver was clearly agitated and wanted to go, but still asked if we wanted to fine at the restaurant up there but we would have to make our own way back. We declined as it would be expensive that late and so he hurried ys into the cable car. This time we changed carriage so we had a view and we did take photos at the top despite him hurrying us. He was polite but clearly wanted to go. Apart from that it was a really fab experience just be clear with your driver at the start that you will be mate and it will be a late evening for them. Dinner is not included nor are any refreshments so bring your own water.
