It an informative tour, a little bit shorter than I expected. That’s no complaint, I think I’m use to London bus and that’s really long. Booked through Viator, it wasn’t clear though what package we got. Seemed like the tour operator wasn’t up to speed on that way to buy tickets. We jumped on the bus nonetheless. . . It was clear to us either that the red line in the map was a self guided walking your route. Worth the ~$40 we paid through Viatour, but abi e $50 is a little pricey if buying through the stand next to the bus stop.
A 1.5 hour informative tour with a great guide. Lovely way to see the city from height on the top deck. Not cheap however but that is the same across the tours. I would say you get more of a view than from the duck boat bus.
In our experience, this is not the best company for a hop-on-hop-off bus. It seemed like we spent more time waiting for busses than we did on a bus. They didn't seem to be very well organized and didn't communicate well. The first guide/narrator was interesting and personable, but for the second half of our trip, they used AI, which was very robotic, and we had a hard time knowing which buildings/sites it was referring to. From what we saw of the other trolley tours, we'd recommend using one of them rather than this one.
It kinda felt like it was a bait and switch and we paid 6 dollars more per person. Their website has one price listed (44.99), but in person you pay more (50.99). I asked the guy about it and he said it was listed on their website that you would pay more in person. Pulled up their site, asked him to show that to me where it said you’d pay more in person and he couldn’t show me where that policy was. So check your ticket price. The tour itself was okay. Sam and Stanley were good. If you go on the Old Town Trolley instead, you can see more sites for the same price.
BEWARE!!!! We boarded the Boston Sightseeing Double Decker Tour Bus at Stop 13 and were told we would leave in 5 minutes. 25 minutes later when we still had not moved... after we had already paid... we were informed that there was a ladies' marathon and we would not see 4 stops. We proceeded to Stop 1 and waited, and waited. We then moved on to tour Boston on what they advertised as a 1 hour 20 minute tour, fully narrated tour. Which it was not, we sat in silence a good portion of the time. We ended up going in a small square with 3 stops that were anything other than hop-on hop-off experience. In 2 hours we went in a small square and experienced long waits at each stop. We confronted the driver and tour guide only to be told they could do nothing about a refund. I have even contacted Boston Sightseeing and they just gave lame excuses as to why there was such a delay and their inability to keep on track and on time. Guests DID NOT enjoy a variety of stops and this was a total waste of time. Other customers also got into a shouting match with the tour guide and bus driver demanding a REFUND! Most tours have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I've had exceptional tours in the past with hop-on hop-off type tours but this Boston Sightseeing experience was beyond awful. Please consider DUCK Tours in Boston. I hear they are fantastic! Boston, Massachusetts Toni Carter - Salt Lake City UT
I love doing sightseeing on a double-decker bus. It was a perfect experience. The bus was timely and we didn’t have to use earbuds, because the commentary was piped in.
Beware : I got to my spot at 4pm and the trolley was closing at 5pm the hours are not listed on the website for Boston the driver told me to call a number and I am still waiting to hear from someone!
We have mentioned on the listing, Our Website, and on our tickets that the last reboarding time is 4 pm at stop-1. Maybe you missed the instruction. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The timing. was according schedule. Guide was very good, giving us a lot of valuable information. He described surroundings effortlessly with a humor, making our experience plausible and interesting. Tour of 80 minutes was exactly what we need. I highly recommend this tour.
Sat on bus for 1/2 waiting to go then it started pouring so we had to go inside the bus and sat there for 1/2 hr then was told another bus was coming because it wasn’t big enough for everyone ! So the next bus pulls up and they pile us in that and there were not enough seats and the driver couldn’t figure out how to close the doors ! So guess what we wait for another bus to come and finally get boarded and sit there for another 1/2 hr before finally leaving! Horrible experience I’m tempted to call them for some kind of refund !
I got an email saying it was Cancelled the day before. Which I could have booked something days ago.
We only cancel tours if there are any bad weather conditions. Sorry for the inconvenience.
