Having seen photographs thought it would be nice to see but the scale, colour is something to be seen in true light. Would be happy to spend another day there.
The view from the top of the tower is spectacular, especially of the cathedral. It was a lot quieter inside the tower, than expected, which was an added bonus for us too. Well worth a visit.
Travel time: Early October.... If you want to visit exactly on point and day. An absolute must. At short notice, everything was booked up. With a day's notice and tickets ready, this is much more relaxed....
The only line you skip is the one to buy the ticket. Do yourself a favor and just buy it when you arrive. Let my loss be your lesson. Seriously buy the ticket at the location. You also have to walk a block away to get the tickets. Don’t. Just don’t.
Unmissable site for a visit to Florence with a couple or friends, very easy to access and interesting
My 1 star rating does not apply to the palazzo vecchio tower which was really super nice you must have seen it. The 1 star was for the Viator Enterprise where I paid exactly twice 25€ online and the ticket said 12.50€, which is exactly what I would have paid on the spot!!! So my tip, make the tickets on site and not at Viator!
I was so happy together a last minute timed ticket to be able to visit since otherwise it appeared sold out and the timed ticket saved me precious time.
I booked for a 930 appointment it said to be there by 915. What the booking failed to mention is that the doors to the Duomo don’t open until 1015 so we didn’t even get in until after 11. Not to mention that the audio devices we were given to listen to the guide continuously cut out - so we could barely hear our guide.
Interesting. Excellent. Doesn’t need long to walk around but well worth visiting. The tower wasn’t accessible to the top the day we went even though we had tickets but it was still good to be able to go up as far as we did
Of course, visiting Palazzo Vecchio is a must. Magnificent courtyard , impressive Council Chamber and very beautiful succession of furnished rooms decorated and full of history. Nice loggia for a moment of rest. A little less for the process of obtaining the entrance ticket: the "voucher" issued during the online purchase must be redeemed in an agency located 2 streets from the Palazzo. A few steps and a waste of time but the exchange is easy and done with a smile.
