Paestum è una delle preziose perle archeologiche d'Italia, si trova nella parte settentrionale della regione del Cilento, non lontano dal fiume Sele, sulla costa del Mar Tirreno. La città fu fondata dai coloni greci, con il nome di Poseidonia, e divenne la città più popolare della Magna Grecia.

Tempio di Era II a Paestum (Poseidonia), prima e ancora spesso noto come “Tempio di Poseidone” o “Tempio di Nettuno” per errata identificazione. Questo è il più settentrionale e il più giovane dei due templi di Hera a Paestum.
Il Tempio di Atena o Tempio di Cerere (500 aC circa) è un tempio greco rinvenuto a Paestum, costruito nei pressi della cosiddetta Basilica che è molto più grande di essa.
Visitate l'affascinante Museo Archeologico Nazionale, che presenta una ricca collezione di opere d'arte greca locale del VII secolo a.C.. I punti di forza indiscussi del museo di Paestum sono gli affreschi della “Tomba del Tuffatore”.

It was a magnificent and very interesting visit in an enchanting place. I was surprised by the beauty of the temples. The guide Mario was truly very skilled and especially very knowledgeable.
