Il vulcano Pacaya è uno dei tanti (attivi) situati intorno ad Antigua, l'antica capitale del Guatemala, e forse il più accessibile. L'ultima grande eruzione del vulcano Pacaya è avvenuta nel 2010. Fino al 2016, durante l'escursione, era possibile vedere la lava da vicino: diverse compagnie di tour hanno preso percorsi diversi. Durante le escursioni al tramonto, appena si è fatto un po 'buio, il vulcano può essere visto lanciare fumo e lava.

Itinerario
I viaggiatori verranno prelevati dal loro hotel e trasportati in minibus al Parco nazionale del vulcano Pacaya. I sentieri sono in buone condizioni ma è ripido fino a raggiungere Pacaya su un percorso di 3,7 chilometri. Mentre sale, attraverserà foreste, terreni agricoli e lava. Camminerai su sterrato e sciolti sentieri di cenere, quindi assicurati di indossare scarpe robuste. Al vertice, godrai di una splendida vista delle fumarole, che potrebbero lanciare ceneri, rocce o lava. Tieni pronta la fotocamera per catturare le eruzioni, per mantenere la sicurezza sarai a una distanza di sicurezza e fuori pericolo. Durante questo tour avrai anche una vista eccellente dei dintorni.

This was a great hike....not too difficult and too time consuming but still very rewarding. David was a great guide....the vistas and the satisfaction are totally worth it

Get ready to hike. I do not think this is a beginner’s friendly hike, more moderate- advanced. They have gourdes that you can ride up the mountain but they are pretty overpriced so be sure to carry extra cash if you cannot complete the hike. (Mind you I actually work out and it was difficult). Great experience overall, but beware of physicality required.
We greatly appreciate your opinion, although you mention things that ARE NOT UNDER OUR CONTROL, such as the price charged for the horses (as they are not ours). As for the level of difficulty you experienced when hiking up the volcano, even children climb this volcano. We always appreciate your comments, Hector
Be prepared to hike up or take a horse. I decided to hike. Amazing experience and seeing the volcano up and being able to sit on volcano rock and admire the scene down below was a amazing. The small group I was with and or your guide was absolutely amazing. The volcano hike turned strangers friends.

This was a perfect hike for me the altitude got to me and was able to get on a horse and get to the top. Did the hike down it was amazing. It was a great way to celebrate turning 50

I had a great time at Volcan Pacaya. The guide Mynor Peralta was very knowledgeable and our hike up to the top was nice and fun. He even practiced speaking Spanish with me. There were horses available to rent, but I didn’t feel the need for it and just walked up. The view at the top is amazing. Oh, and he volunteered to take some Instagram worthy pictures, total win.

What a wonderful experience it was! Wow! It was so magical to do a horseback riding all the way to the top of the volcano and enjoying breathtaking views of the mountains and volcanoes!! This trip is a must!!
