Basta uscire dalla strada principale di Dotonbori, e vi troverete in una zona vivace dove la gente del posto si riunisce per mangiare e bere. Qui, ci fermeremo da 2 o 3 accoglienti izakaya locali (pub in stile Giapponese) e bar e gustare cibo e bevande izakaya proprio come fanno i locali! Cammineremo anche attraverso vivaci stradine secondarie, vicoli nascosti e luoghi locali lungo il percorso. Thoroughly enjoyed our time with Tetsu! If you want a genuine experience of izakayas as well as meet great people along the way, Tetsu provides this, along with the knowledge/history of the areas he takes you around. Next time I visit Osaka I will definitely be contacting him for another tour around the city! Thank you Tetsu

If you’re interested in experiencing authentic Japanese izakaya culture, this tour is for you. Not for the faint of heart, Tetsu will take you to places you’d never know existed let alone get into on your own. We had a wonderful evening at local izakayas with wonderful drinks and food. Tetsu brought us to places we would not otherwise have gotten to go and recommend delicious items. We booked this tour on our last night in Osaka and it exceeded our expectations. Tetsu made the evening enjoyable and relaxed, sharing neighborhood spots that were genuinely local. We came away with a much better sense of how people here eat and socialize after dark. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. A wonderful way to end our amazing trip to Japan!

We had an amazing time exploring Osaka with Tetsu! The tour felt super local and authentic, and we got to meet so many amazing, friendly people that we never would have experienced without Tetsu. This tour is not like any other tour, and it is wonderful! Only for those who truly want a sense of local izakaya culture. Read this whole thing so you don’t get the wrong idea because this tour is not for just anyone. Our guide (who started the tour and does it himself) takes you to intimate spaces in small bars that only locals frequent, so it’s important that you learn some basic Japanese phrases and politeness with the customs so as not to offend your hosts or other guests. If you just want a foodie tour, find a different one. This is incredibly unique in that you literally cannot enter these places without permission from the owners. Our guide knows them personally and this is a privilege. The price is a starting point so you need to bring cash to pay at the end because you will get to choose much of your food and drinks, which of course vary in price. And he is not jacking up the price either. Our guide was wonderful and friendly and was a knowledgeable liaison for us with the 3 izakaya owners we met. Over the course of the night we saw three very different bars, ranging from a fun dive bar atmosphere to a another enjoyable bar to a swanky bar that felt like being invited into the hostess’ home. The food and drinks were absolutely fantastic! Once the locals saw and heard us trying out Japanese phrases and trying different foods, they were incredibly friendly and welcoming, so again, do some preparation for this one. You will thank yourself later.

Most of our guests are visiting Japan for the first time and know little or no Japanese, and they have a wonderful time.
