Poured rain.......Archeological sites would have been good in good weather...not in anyone's control! Guide was very nice.....
Dear Roberta, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience while in Olympia. We are very to hear that you were satisfied both by our local certified tourist guide and the Olympic site. We ensured to skip all lines and make the most of it while in the area, eventhough it was pouring rain. Therefore, it is disappointing that you rated your experience quite low. In any other case, we would have moved your tour to avoid the rain. However, there is no much flexibility when it comes to cruisers with limited time in our area. Thanks again, Regards Despina Aggeli
I booked a small group tour and had the pleasure of being guided by Despina throughout the trip. She was knowledgeable, warm, and engaging. When we arrived at ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, another expert guide joined us as soon as we got off the bus. It was seamless and well-organized. Walking through the historic ruins while learning about the ancient traditions was truly fascinating. Next, we visited Padelina for an olive oil tasting experience. We sampled various flavors of olive oils paired with vinegar creams and had the chance to shop for some unique local products. We also stopped at a family-run honey bee farm, where we were warmly welcomed with traditional treats. One of the highlights was the “spoon sweet”, an intensely sweet fruit preserve traditionally offered to guests. We also tried “Diples”, a delicious fried Greek pastry drizzled with honey, along with fresh fruit juice and coffee. The entire tour was well-paced, culturally rich, and deliciously sweet. It was an experience I’ll always remember. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore authentic Greek culture beyond the usual tourist stops!
Thank you for your excellent review and recommendation. It was a pleasure reading that the tour you chose lived up to your expectations and especially the honey farm visit and the olive oil tasting . We hope you keep the sweet memories of the tour and you are welcome to visit our area for more unique experiences. Warm regards, The Travel Insiders

What a wonderful day we had! Can’t wait to visit Greece again! As a family we agreed this was our favorite day. Zoe & our driver met us at our ship. She had a sign with our name on it making it easy to find her. Our family our 14 climbed on board and got seated in a clean & newer Mercedes van. Little did we know that Zoe is a archeologist & we were in for a treat! As we began driving she shared some of Greece’s history pointing out land marks along the way. We were able to interact/ask questions & she answered them all. As we entered the grounds of Ancient Olympia she explained everything we walked past & allowed us to take our pictures. She was so friendly & informative. Next we went through the museum & again we paused at the artifacts and she explained everything to us. We were able to get souvenirs in the shop before getting back on our van. Our last stop was a lovely shop where we were greeted with treats & wine before being driven back to our ship. Zoe is a gem and we won’t be using any other tour guide when our family decides to revisit! Thank you Zoe! Aurora & family
Thank you very much for your photos and review! We are so happy to hear that you and your family had such a wonderful day in Olympia! We also look forward to your next visit to Greece! Warm regards from Zoe and the team of The Travel Insiders.
Our extended family of seven ranged from 11 to 82 years old and we all loved both of our small group tours of ancient Olympia & museum with Zoe and the Acropolis & museum with Demetrius. I cannot stress enough the value of the small group tour. Both Zoe and Demetrius quickly figured out that our youngest knows his ancient Greek history and valued his comments and questions. They did the same for my 82-year-old father. This ability to interact because of the small numbers creates a wonderful dynamic and made a lasting impression on us all.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review. We are delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed your small group tours of Olympia and Athens and that they made a lasting impression on all of you. It is always a pleasure to hear that our small group tours were appreciated to the fullest! We wish you and your wonderful family all the best and hope to see you again in the near future.
