We were lucky to experience Tanner as our guide solo tonight and as a co-guide last night. Our first experience with Tanner was benefitting from his negotiating dinner arrangements dinner for 34 at Chena totally unscripted. Our trip tonight was outstanding. Tanner is Professional. Knowledgeable. Talented. And quick and calm under pressure when faced with a fuel leak of a heater. He is an excellent representative for the company. I HIGHLY recommend asking for him.
Daniel was excellent, professional, knowledgeable, and great with my daughter. Last night it was amazing!! Definitely worth the time and money!!!! Aurora was very active and definitely gave us a show!
💯 recommend this organization!!!! Constant communication from the office staff, easiest application, waiver, and payment. Paul, our guide, VERY knowledgeable about area, aurora, and other local heritage. Paul made the trip worth it, pointing out different aspects of the lights so we could get the best experience. He also is unequivocally the most personable guide I've met; within 10-15 minutes, you forgot he was there as duty, and more of a friend along for the ride! 10 STARS!
The photo on their site is nothing compared to the spectacular views we enjoyed. Tanner was punctual, friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable about when the lights would peak in intensity. This was a must do if you visit Fairbanks in the winter and are fortunate to have a clear night. Well worth every penny!
Excellent service, Daniel did his best to make it a magnificent experience. Wondering at the Northern Lights, it is very worth going to see them on tour
We ended up on the Northern Lights tour. The staff were very hospitable, and Ash was very interesting. The grounds that we were taken to was remote and very dark (good for no light pollution). There were several yurts there to warm up, have a toilet and have refreshments. However, my biggest issue was that next to the yurts (namely yurt #1) had a hole in the ground that was about 1 foot deep and not marked by any fencing, tape or any other type of warning that the hole was there. Since it was dark, I did not see (nor expect) a hole that deep, fell into the hole and injured my ankle. As a result, I tore some ligaments and at this point, I don't know if I will need surgery. This is why I rated the company the way that I did. To participate in the trips, we were required to sign waivers absolving them of any responsibly of injuries. However, they really could have marked the area to warn people of this type of hazard.
We apologize for this. Our property is 20 acres and we work really hard to keep it maintained for all of our guests. We have had a lot of rain and this caused a small washout in that area. Once we learned about the hole we did get it filled in and surveyed the area for any other issues as well. We do look over the property before each tour but obviously this was missed. Our customer and staff safety if our top priority and we would like to assure you that this has been taken care of. We hope you are feeling better and you may contact our office anytime with any questions or concerns.
Absolutely beufriful, our guide, Joe, was very passionate in the way he talked about it, as well as his personal experience living up here in Alaska. Pictures do not do the aurora justice.
This was a totally disappointing experience Since the weather was snowing and windy I was concerned for my safety during this driving tour. I asked the tour provider to reschedule. I was told it was not possible. We drove for 40 minutes until the road became impassible. Then the driver turned around and drove another 40 minutes to drop us off at a yurt. The yurt visit involved sitting in a room with 40 other people for 2 hours waiting for the Aurora . To fill the time, the misguided tour leader recited personal stories that were in exceptionally poor taste and had no bearing on the tour.
Hello Kathy, we are sorry you did not have a good time on this tour. Safety is our number one concern and once the road became unsafe, we made the decision to turn around and take you to a location with safe road conditions and great views for the northern lights. As you know it was not snowing all night and at the time of the start of the tour was not snowing. We did have 40 other people up there that have left 5-star reviews that everyone else can read below. Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather or the Northern Lights as it is a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed and I feel this is the real reason you were not happy that night.
Our tour guide Paul did an amazing job! Although it was too cloudy to see the auroras he kept us entertained and is extremely knowledgeable! Thanks again Ronnie/ Corey
This Aurora trip was truly amazing. In the morning, I participated in a 30-minute dog sledding experience, which was a lot of fun. The Aurora cabin at night was breathtaking. Besides the cabin, many interesting things happened that evening as well. For instance, one of the guides suddenly caught a snowshoe hare and brought it back, while another guide, wearing a cowboy hat, lent us his BB gun to play with. Ash also shared many stories about his experiences in Alaska, such as hunting during the summer and treasure hunting, where he once found an ancient Spanish silver coin that could potentially rewrite American history textbooks. These are experiences that I would never have had in Taiwan, and I’m truly grateful to them for giving me such an unforgettable memory.
