Visited last week with family of 6, a further 4 couples on the tour so nice number and easy to hear the guide Antonino. Small vineyard easy to get around as lovely view of the coast from the top bank of vines. Thoughly enjoyable experience, the wines provided are of good quality and available to buy afterwards. The malapipa and orange wine is especially good and worth purchasing. Definitely recommend if staying in Mijas or nearby. Be aware it’s a steep walk do n from the road, if you have anyone not to steady on their feet.
Thank you so much for this lovely review! We’re delighted your family enjoyed the vineyard tasting and that the group size made it easy to follow Antonio’s explanations. It’s wonderful to know the coastal views, the quality of the wines and a few favourites to take home made the visit feel so worthwhile. We also appreciate your practical note about the slope from the road; it’s helpful for future guests to plan comfortably. WHT TEAM
This wine tasting is definitely recommended. It is on a small vineyard and authentic Spanish. We ended up with 6 wines; white rosé, red and desert wine, 2 olive oils and a diversity of tapas. Super fun! The guide was also very relaxed and also gave the group some time to taste for themselves. What made everything even more fun was that the vineyard is a 5-minute drive from my brother's B&B and they might present this wine as their house wine.
Hartelijk dank, Suzanne! WHT TEAM
Really nice evening in a beautiful vineyard with lots of gorgeous wines to taste !
Thank you so much, Tara! We’re really happy the evening had that relaxed, beautiful-vineyard feeling and that the tasting gave you so much to enjoy. It’s lovely to know the experience left such a good impression. WHT TEAM
`I heard of the Mijas Organic Vineyard tour from my wife who had taken part only a few weeks ago. and thoroughly enjoyed it. We both had Antonio as our guide. He's the right man to explain the production of olive oil and wines, from the culture of olive trees and vines through to the end product we were privileged to sample. Antonio has an engaging personality and a dry sense of humour. 16 of us gathered for a summary of what we would be doing, seeing, and sampling. The site is attractive and ideally suited to the tour, being situated on the mountainside overlooking the coastline. Big enough to explore, but with no need for hiking.. Antonio introduced the basics of olive tree and vine management; also a resident team responsible for maintenance of ecological balance on the land: these comprise the goat, a few hens, the cat and Collie dog, Tom. You will just have to book in for the tour to find out more. What I particularly liked about the day was the relaxed and un- regimented structure. We met. Introductory talk near an olive grove. Walk a bit further stop by the rose bushes crucial to survival of the vines. Each of us was issued with a glass of a strong and fragrant vermut, Mala Mostia, exclusive to Vinedo Malvasia. Next , we. were free to explore the vines and the views, sipping as we went. Sipping downhill took us to the terraced hospitality area where a long trestle table had magically appeared, laden with bottled wines - white, rose, orange; glasses, and tapas of all kinds. Tom, the dog, was available to welcome his guests. I have been to wine and oil tastings before where I felt I was back at school , commanded: sniff, swill, slurp, taste the aroma, feel the burning sensation in the throat. If you can"t you fail. Now we are hearing, taste, you may get aromas of apple and pear, don't worry if you can"t , just enjoy it. Move on to another - the taste strengthens with exposure to the air. It did. And we did. So did the friendship with our fellow tasters. At my end were visitors from Denmark and New York. We got on so well that I have since been in contact to exchange email address etc to keep in touch. For this I have to thank Lisa from White Houses Tours, the organisers. She relayed messages over the entire weekend putting our group members in touch with one another. For which, many thanks. Lisa. All in all, the experience was everything that you could hope for, and more. Alistair Hamilton
Thank you so much, Alistair. What a wonderful review to read. We’re delighted that Antonio’s knowledge, humour and relaxed way of sharing the vineyard, olive oil and wines made the day feel so natural rather than formal. It’s especially lovely that the group atmosphere led to new friendships, and Lisa will be very happy to know her help after the tour was appreciated. Thank you for describing the experience so generously. WHT TEAM
Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Antonio was a very welcoming as well as extremely knowledgeable host and Thomas dog was very welcoming too. Although only 8 in our group, 5 countries were represented - Yemen, Morocco, Canada, Wales and Ireland. The olive oils, the various wines and tapas dishes were all plentiful and very tasty. The wines, the food and the camaraderie among the group made it one of the most enjoyable afternoons of our week in Mijas, and possibly for others in the group too as we nearly had to be asked to leave, as we had stayed beyond out allotted time. If considering this tour, I would highly recommend you book it. Thanks to Antonio, and indeed to Thomas who got most of my tapas meats.
Thank you so much for this wonderful review. We loved reading how much you enjoyed the afternoon with Antonio, the wines, olive oils, tapas and the atmosphere in the group. It’s especially lovely to know it became one of the most enjoyable moments of your week in Mijas. Thomas will also be very pleased with his special mention 😁. WHT TEAM
Rodrigo from White House tours arranged a private vineyard tour, wine tasting and paella dinner for a group of 22 of us. Everything from the beginning was perfect. Rodrigo thought of every little detail to make it a special experience for us all. The wines were amazing and the dinner was even better. Thank you to Rodrigo and the team for organising a brilliant experience. I would highly recommend!
Thank you so much for this wonderful review. Rodrigo and the whole team are really happy to know that everything felt so carefully organised for your group. We’re delighted the private vineyard experience, Antonio’s wines and the paella dinner came together so well. Thank you for trusting us with such a special day and for recommending us so warmly. Pablo was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed tasting all the wines and hearing about the vineyard and production of oil. Tom the dog was lovely. Highly recommend but remember to take a hat and some extra water.
Thank you, Verity! We’re so happy you enjoyed Pablo’s guiding, the wines, the vineyard, the olive oil production and Tom’s company. Your practical sunny-day reminder is also very useful for future travellers. Thank you for recommending the experience. WHT TEAM
