Navigazione nel Canale di Beagle con il minitrekking USHUAIA

Salpiamo dal molo turistico locale attraversando l'ampia baia di Ushuaia fino a raggiungere il Canale di Beagle attraverso Paso Chico. Lì navigheremo intorno all'Isola degli Uccelli dove potremo apprezzare l'avifauna fuegiana. Osserveremo: Skúas, Albatro dai sopraccigli neri, Anatre al vapore, Cauquenes, Gabbiani cuochi e Gabbiani grigi. Quindi, ci avvicineremo a Isla de los Lobos dove potremo osservare i leoni marini con uno e due peli. Entrambe le isole appartengono all'arcipelago dei Ponti. Arrivando al Faro di Les Eclaireurs (Gli Illuminatori), potremo vedere le colonie di Cormorani Imperiali e Cormorani di Roccia mentre ascolteremo la storia dell'affondamento della SS Monte Cervantes di cui fu protagonista nel 1930. Faremo una discesa a Puerto Karelo, appartenente alle Isole Bridges, dove potrai visitare autentici cumuli di conchiglie Yámana. Questa passeggiata guidata dura circa 20 minuti e ci concentra su un punto panoramico dove si possono scattare ottime fotografie.

Itinerario
Partiamo dalla Darsena Turistica della nostra città, in direzione del Canale di Beagle, godendoci la vista panoramica della costa di Ushuaia mentre navighiamo, vedendo gli edifici più importanti, il Museo Marittimo (antica prigione), il Museo della Fine del Mondo, la zona industriale e le montagne Olivia e Cinco Hermanos.
Ci dirigiamo verso le Isole dei Ponti dove facciamo una sosta e una discesa. È importante notare che la passeggiata durante questa visita non è difficile ed è accessibile a chiunque. Oltre a vivere l'esperienza di camminare su una piccola isola nel mezzo del Canale di Beagle, l'obiettivo è quello di apprezzare le seguenti tre attrazioni principali: Conchero Yámanas: resti archeologici degli abitanti originari del Canale di Beagle. A pochi metri dal molo si trovano i depositi degli insediamenti degli Yámanas o Yaganes, entreremo in uno di essi e, sulla base delle spiegazioni della guida, immagineremo come vivevano. Inoltre, un taglio nella parete della conchiglia ci permetterà di comprendere e osservare meglio la stratificazione delle conchiglie scartate. Percorrendo il circuito di interpretazione, si può apprezzare il particolare sviluppo che piante, fiori e frutti raggiungono in questo speciale ecosistema.
Ci imbarchiamo nuovamente e navighiamo verso sud-ovest, avvicinandoci all'Isla de Los Lobos, dove, dalla barca, possiamo godere della vista dei leoni marini, osservando il loro habitat permanente, in uno scenario meraviglioso. Proseguendo la navigazione, ci dirigeremo verso l'Isla de Los Pájaros, habitat di Cormorani di Magellano e Cormorani Imperiali e settore privilegiato per l'avvistamento di esemplari di avifauna marina. Proseguiamo fino al faro di Les Eclaireurs, nell'arcipelago omonimo, dove nel 1930 affondò la nave Monte Cervantes.
Il ritorno avverrà attraverso il Paso Chico, con vista sulle Estancias Túnel e Fique, per poi rientrare a Ushuaia, con la vista dell'imponente scenario offerto dal Monte Martial e dall'omonimo ghiacciaio.

Very crowded on catamaran. Landscaping is scenic but a little boring. Expected to see more wildlife than birds.

During high season, boats can operate at full capacity, but we always aim to provide a comfortable and enjoyable journey. Wildlife sightings in the Beagle Channel can vary depending on weather and natural conditions. While birds are very common, sea lions and other marine life are sometimes seen along the route, though sightings can never be guaranteed. Much depends on the weather conditions, if the sea is rough it can be annoying. The views and sights of the animals repay the possible discomfort.

Not as interesting as I thought it would be, for me a little oversold. Slow boarding and not sure why, the line kept stopping and starting. Guide talks were mainly in Spanish with a cut-down version in English. The 'walk' is a 100m to a sign for the town name. We didn't really get to do the Beagle Channel, just a small part of it, I thought we would have gone around the coastline further. Got to see the sealions from the boat though. Boat size was good with comfy seats and big windows and lots of outside space too.

We had a great experience, it was nice to see the city from the water perspective. Walking on the island was nice as well. We were lucky with the weather. Unfortunately we did not spot whales.

It's a big ship, nothing spectacular but if you wanna chill on a boat it's a nice programme. There is no real trekking, it's a 10 metres walk. The provider pushes people out who don't pay for the photos the professional photographers do on the boat. We saw penguins from far and sealions too.

Well organized, comfortable boat, beautiful landscapes, guide in eapanhol and English. We left at 9:30 and returned 3 hours later directly for lunch at a dozen good restaurants in the region.

On a beautiful calm day it was a great introduction to the landscape as my first holiday activity. The island visit was just a short path out and back but taking a moment on the beach was nice.

We were able to see lots of animals from sea lions, penguins, cormorants, and even some whales. The boat was comfortable and even made one stop to get off and explore an island.
