We did our tour with Matt and Alex and we had the best time. They taught us a lot, were patient and helpful guiding us up the falls to keep us safe, and gave us the best day of our trip. We told them how much we love sloths so they even made sure to stop the truck and point out a sleepy little sloth hiding in the trees on our way to the falls. Highly recommend this tour and company. Thank you Matt and Alex and Paddle9!
Great experience with the Paddle9 crew. Wouldn't have made up to the 30+ foot jump without them!
Our Nauyaca Waterfall tour with Paddle 9 was THE highlight of our family’s trip to Costa Rica. Our guides were prompt to pick us up from our hotel. Carlos was a very safe and efficient driver. The guides- DK, Mike & Alejandro- were all AMAZING throughout the trip…from a little bit of Costa Rican education on the trip to making sure we all felt safe on our adventure, I felt like we were in great hands. They were all very interactive with us and our boys, ages 9 and 16. DK was great at pointing out plants and wildlife, including a sloth and toucans, during our trip. At the end of our trip, a delicious lunch was served and our boys had an opportunity to play pool and ping pong while the adults enjoyed a cold beverage from the bar. I rate this trip a perfect 10!!
We had the absolute best time on our Nauyaca Waterfall Tour with Paddle 9! Absolutely everything was perfect - picked up on time, amazing friendly and knowledgeable guides that went above and beyond. We took our 10 and 8 year old kids and they said it was one of the best days of our holiday - all because the Paddle 9 crew were amazing with them. Thank you!!
Overall, this was awesome. The company was very easy to work with and met us on their way to reduce our drive time (which was great). The photos were an extra fee, but more than worth it to avoid having to carry a camera around. The only advice I would have is that the tour is most valuable to groups where most people want to do the big jump. They are so helpful to get you to the top and ensure safety. If you are NOT wanting to jump, the tour is still beautiful, but there may be cheaper options.
Wonderful experience. Our guides were personable, knowledgeable, and great conversationalists. They were patient and just cool people, doing what they live to do.
We had a great time with Paddle 9 on the Nauyaca Falls tour. Everything was well organized from the start, with a prompt pickup and a safe, comfortable drive thanks to Carlos. The guides, Roberto and Alejandro, were the reason this tour stood out. Roberto shared interesting facts about the area during the drive, and throughout the hike both guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. They pointed out wildlife we would have completely missed on our own, including a sloth, a poison dart frog, an owl, and several other interesting creatures. The waterfalls were absolutely beautiful, and we never felt rushed. We had plenty of time to swim, relax, enjoy fresh pineapple, and even try a natural clay face mask using clay from the riverbed, which was refreshing and fun. There's also an optional cliff jump for anyone interested. I decided to do it, and although I was a little hesitant, Alexandria and Roberto were right there the entire time, making safety their priority and helping me every step of the way. Their professionalism and attention to everyone in the group really stood out. We finished the day with a fresh, delicious lunch before heading back. Overall, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. I'd definitely recommend Paddle 9, and a big thank you to Roberto, Alejandro, and Carlos for making it such a memorable day.
The waterfall was great, but the hike was more challenging than I expected. I am 74, and this was perhaps too much for me. You hike about a mile up the mountain.
The Nauyaca waterfall tour was amazing! On the way Roberto and Recee were great at explaining the culture of the areas we were passing and what to expect at the waterfall. The hike to the waterfall was not long and both of our guides were spotting animals such as frogs, lizards, and sloths, and plants along the way. Both Roberto and Recee helped us over the rocky areas to make sure we didn't slip and assisted my son when climbing up the rocks to cliff jump. The waterfall was beautiful and my family enjoyed the hike and swimming beneath the waterfall.
We had an amazing experience on the waterfall tour today. From the driver and photographer to the tour guides, everyone on the team was outstanding at what they do. Both of our guides were incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel safe while ensuring we had a lot of fun. The rainforest and waterfall were definitely among the highlights of our trip. The lunch, fresh fruit, and juice afterward were delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. In fact, this was the best meal we’ve had during our time in Costa Rica! The tour was the perfect length - not exhausting, but active enough to work up a sweat in the best way. You do need to be willing to hike a bit, but it’s not overly difficult and is manageable for most people with a reasonable level of fitness. One thing we especially appreciated was that the waterfall wasn’t crowded, so the experience felt authentic rather than overly touristy. We think this tour is absolutely worth it and would highly recommend booking it. You won’t regret it!
