Itinerario

An Exceptional Wine Tour Experience with Danilor What an absolutely stunning day! This was my first time in San Francisco, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our driver, Danilo, was truly outstanding from start to finish. He was incredibly welcoming, kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Throughout the day, he shared so many interesting and informative facts about San Francisco and the surrounding area. He even took the time to stop at a national park before the Golden Gate Bridge, which was such a wonderful surprise. I honestly feel like I received even more than I expected from the tour. The wine tour itself was fantastic. Two of the vineyards we visited were absolutely outstanding, while the third was just okay — but overall, the experience was wonderful Danilo’s recommendations for lunch in Sonoma were also excellent. What really stood out was his genuine hospitality and cheerful attitude. He made the entire day feel relaxed, enjoyable, and special. And, of course, his driving was exceptional, safe, smooth, and professional throughout the entire trip. Danilo is truly exceptional at what he does, and I am so grateful for the wonderful day he gave us. If you’re considering a wine tour to Napa or Sonoma, I highly recommend requesting Danilor as your driver. He went above and beyond to make our day memorable. Five stars without hesitation! 🍷🌉❤️ - Gina
Don was not a great tour guide. We started out with him stating two different bus leave times from GG, and he almost left us and others from the tour when he meant the earlier of the times he said. Then talked way too much about info nobody seemed to care much about, like his previous job, prisons, and not wine. Roche Winery was great, good people and info. Artesa was not as great, host kept making comments "for the ladies" and talking about shoes and men. Madonna wine was pretty good but "tour" was 15 minutes max, which was frustrating given how rushed we'd been all day. We planned to leave at 430, then Don proceeded to honk at us at 425 when we weren't on the bus. Felt like a massive waste of money and will not be using Grayline again.
It is a long day. Wear comfortable clothing and enjoy the experience. The driver is there to give historical context during the trip, so a part of the adventure is designed to help you learn about the wine and the families who create it.
Fun time for a first time Napa/Sonoma trip.
Wish they would have had more red wines options. But overall it was a great experience and the tour guide was very attentive and entertaining.
Don was an exceptional driver and guide . He was knowledgeable and patient.
My wife & I had a romantic getaway in SF and definitely needed to do the Wine Country tour in Napa/Sonoma. It was the most memorable part of our trip! Don, our host and driver was excellent through and through. He is from the SF-area so he was knowledgeable and passionate about creating a great experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area or any fans of wine and California scenery.
Don, the tour bus driver/guide for driving portions, was uninformed and rude. At the first vista point stop, he told us a time to be on the bus and started pulling the bus away early with 4+ people running towards a moving bus. He scolded us for not being on time (we were actually 2 minutes early) and he set the trip up on a bad foot. Multiple others on the tour commented about being uncomfortable with him as well. Dons commentary during the hour+ bus ride to the Sonoma/Napa Valley area left much to be desired. On a *wine* tour, we learned about where Don grew up, some of the places he worked, and his bias takes on loosely related history of wine making. He rambled and didn't even seem to be interested in what he was saying himself. The first stop on our tour was Roche Winery. The wine was good and tour was very nice. Our second stop was Artesa, the only good part about this stop were the beautiful views, the wine was undrinkably sweet and smoky at the same time. We stopped at Sonoma Plaza for 1.5 hour lunch break (food NOT included). The area is very quaint and charming with very good food. Final stop was Madonna which was quite disappointing to be rushed through a 10 minute tour where a separate tour guide talked over our tour guide the entire time. Overall, the wine was incredibly acidic and sweet, but their Cabernet Sauvignon was good. By the last stop, Don tried to be friendly with everyone and assure us we wouldn't be left behind, but the sentiment wasn't believable after he changed his tune from "I WILL leave without your, timing the THE MOST IMPORTANT part of the trip" to "I won't leave anyone behind and we have flexibility with schedule." Overall, this tour (especially with Don) is quite disappointing. I didn't sign up to learn Don's life story and taste sweet wines, I came to the wine capitol of the US to learn about wines from the area and taste world famous Cabernet's. Don't waste your money or time on this tour. The entire time I was nervous about being left behind after poor timing communication at two stops, there was not a clear pick up spot and vineyards chosen were sun par for actual wine fans.
Danny, our driver, was fantastic! He made our trip memorable with his knowledge mixed with funny jokes. Also, being seated in the first row helped. The overall experience for me was curated well. This included 3 wineries, a short stop by the Golden Gate Bridge for photos and a leisurely stroll at Sonoma Plaza for some boutique shopping and lunch at great cafes/wine bars. It was a fun 8 hour experience!
Went from cold to hot. Some of the vineyards were air conditioned inside Comfortable bus. I’ve forgotten
Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the comfortable bus and hope you had a great time exploring wine country.
