Il Cortile della “Pigna”, ricavato dall’area cinquecentesca del Belvedere
La sfera dentro una sfera" di Arnaldo Pomodoro ai Musei Vaticani è un suggestivo capolavoro scultoreo che impreziosisce il Cortile della Pigna. Questa accattivante opera d'arte presenta una grande sfera di bronzo con una superficie strutturata e fratturata, che rivela una sfera più piccola all'interno. Il gioco di luci e ombre sugli intricati motivi aggiunge al suo fascino ipnotizzante. Simboleggiando temi di complessità e profondità interiore, la scultura di Pomodoro ai Musei Vaticani testimonia la convergenza di arte, spiritualità e significato profondo nel cuore di una delle istituzioni culturali più rinomate al mondo.
La Cappella Sistina prende il nome da papa Sisto IV della Rovere (pontefice dal 1471 al 1484) che fece restaurare l’antica Cappella Magna tra il 1477 e il 1480. È conosciuta in tutto il mondo sia per essere il luogo dove si tengono il conclave e altre cerimonie ufficiali del Papa (in passato anche alcune incoronazioni papali), sia per essere decorata con una delle più famose e celebrate opere d’arte della civiltà artistica gli affreschi di Michelangelo.
La Basilica più grande del mondo ospita anche capolavori mondiali come la famosa Pietà di Michelangelo! ospita anche una cripta sotterranea per i Papi, di cui è possibile visitare (non disponibile il mercoledì mattina a causa dell'udienza papale) La Basilica ha una grande influenza da Michelangelo e si può vedere la sua opera d'arte in tutto. La Basilica è stata originariamente costruita sopra la tomba del Principe degli Apostoli, dove il Papa visita ogni Natale o Pasqua.

I can’t say enough about how fantastic our private tour with Katie was. She was super knowledgeable on all history of Rome. From the moment we met Katie we felt as if we’ve been friends for years. There is no doubt that on our tour we will book Katie and CityEyes.
Our private Vatican tour with Mirta was fantastic! We were picked up from our hotel exactly on time and every detail of the day went exactly as promised. Mirta was a charming and informative tour guide. She had so much to share and was funny too. While we waited to go in (we were intentionally early in order to enter as soon as the Vatican opened), she wisely used the time to share all about the Sistine chapel since guides can’t speak inside the church. Later, when we were actually in the chapel, we felt we had much better knowledge of all of the special details. Starting early meant we were able to beat the rush of people and have a really special overall experience. She was so good at highlighting the best parts and kept it moving so we could see each space in a timely manner. She even took nice pictures of our group in the perfect spots. Then, our great driver was waiting for us as we walked out. It really could not have been a better tour. Thank you Mirta for providing an amazing morning for our group!
Valeria was exceptional. We did a private tour of the Vatican with her - including pick up and drop of before and after. We were with our teenage sons and they too enjoyed the experience, explanation and pace of the tour. Paying a premium for a private tour is the ONLY way to visit the Vatican. Otherwise the lines are long and unpredictable. Particularly if you are travelling with kids (or anyone short on patience) a private guide is the best way to get you in, see what you are most interested in, and out in a seamless manner.
Great tour! It was difficult at first to find our guide at the meeting point. We also tried to call the office when we couldn’t find them and it took us to a non serviced number. Once we did find them, the tour was excellent and informative.
I would highly recommend Michela. My daughter and I learned so much from her because of her knowledge of art and history. When I go back to Rome, I would do the same tour with her again. Because there were just the two of us with her, we were able to get through the museum and Basilica so easy with the crowds. The private tour was definitely the way to go.

Doing this tour early is a must! First of all it was summer so walking through the museum could be miserable in the heat of the day. Simone our guide was absolutely fantastic! The pick up and drop off service was nice as well.
