Il Cortile della Pigna nei Musei Vaticani. Se non sei mai stato ai Musei Vaticani, considera non solo la Cappella Sistina ma anche altri spazi, come il Cortile della Pigna. È una delle prime tappe che farete durante la vostra visita, un grande spazio aperto di 300 mq adiacente ai corridoi e alle sale del museo. Se il tempo è bello, goditi l'intera estensione del cortile a tuo piacimento e presta attenzione alle varie opere d'arte qui presenti.
Commissionato dai Papi Clemente XIV (1769-1774) e Pio VI (1775-1799), questo museo doveva ospitare capolavori greci e romani provenienti dal Vaticano. Al centro del museo si trova il cortile ottagonale con le statue più famose: l'Apollo del Belvedere, copia romana del II sec. Copia romana, Perseo con la testa di Medusa, del Canova (inizi del XIX secolo), l'Ermete Pio-Clementino, copia di un dipinto del IV secolo a.C. Statua greca.
Una delle parti più belle e suggestive dei Musei Vaticani è sicuramente il lungo corridoio, lungo 120 metri e largo sei, che conduce alla Cappella Sistina ornata di mappe. La Galleria delle Carte Geografiche, voluta da papa Gregorio XIII, fu realizzata tra il 1580 e il 1585. Gli affreschi furono realizzati da artisti italiani e fiamminghi sotto la direzione di Ignazio Danti, matematico, astronomo e cosmografo. Le pareti della galleria sono ricoperte da quaranta mappe delle varie regioni italiane, con mappe delle principali città. Sul soffitto adiacente ad ogni regione sono rappresentate le principali manifestazioni religiose che vi si svolgevano.
La Cappella Sistina si trova all'interno dei Musei Vaticani a Roma ed è visitata ogni anno da milioni di turisti provenienti da tutto il mondo. La Cappella Sistina è decorata dagli splendidi affreschi di Michelangelo. Sue splendide opere ricoprono la volta e la parete di fondo (con il Giudizio Universale) sopra l'altare. All'interno della Cappella si svolgono il conclave, il battesimo e le altre cerimonie ufficiali del Papa.
Dalla Cappella Sistina si accede direttamente alla Basilica di San Pietro, dove i visitatori avranno poi tempo libero per visitarla in autonomia

If you go in the heat of the summer, take water, expect very large crowds (in the thousands), and dress appropriately. It was amazing to see art that was centuries old. You definitely need a guide to maneuver through the museum.
Not as all as described Missed so many things Most of the tour was spent standing outside in the hot sun. Save your money and find a better tour company or do on your own. This was a big waste of money Extremely disappointed !!!!

The itinerary is clearly described at the time of booking and includes the main galleries of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and direct access to St. Peter's Basilica. The tour was conducted exactly as advertised. If your expectation was to see a larger portion of the museums or spend more time in specific areas, we recommend booking a private, tailor-made tour for your next visit, as this is the only option that allows for a customized itinerary and a more comprehensive visit.

The smoothest way to experience Sicstine Chappel and St. Pieter's Basilika saving hours of queuing. The guide told interesting things about the attractions, but not too much, taking into account that it was very hot and there was a lot of walking. Overall very good guide and organization.

Directions to the start were very poor. Once we actually got there, each person we tried to speak with was disorganized, unhelpful and rude. We were told to be 15 minutes early, but couldn’t even confirm we were in the right place until 5 minutes after the scheduled start. Although the venues themselves are too overcrowded to really be appreciated, our guide did as well as anyone could hope. She was the only bright spot on this tour.
